When that happens, the Eastern Conference will be wide open as everyone else is about even. The Celtics and 76ers are way ahead of the Wizards for future projections. Overall Wall contributes just about the same amount as they do in offensive production when you consider both points and assists. So, we’re 3rd why the is that a bad place to be in the conference? If you’re top 4, you get home court and anything can happen. Maybe you have amnesia but the Wizards were just a few FGs or defensive stops away from beating the Celtics in the second round of last playoffs and playing in the eastern conference finals. Same with the Hawks a few years before that and the Pacers the year before that and that was mostly because of John Wall! Why would you give that up to go back to being a team that can’t win over 45 games again led by Beal, Porter and Morris? The wizards were 8 minutes from being in the ECF last year. They probably should’ve been in the ECF considering the outrageous calls Boston was getting at home. And they played the Cavs extremely well last year. They aren’t as mediocre as they’ve shown this year and a lot of it has to do with Wall being out. And Wall has all the ability to be a league MVP. You’re really selling him short with how good he is. And I’ll give you Curry, Harden and Westbrook but he’s better than everyone else on that list. Also, I looked up Wall’s amount of offense he contributes to the Wizards and it was about 60 points a game in 2016-17 when he was healthy. 23 points and 11 assists. Thats actually more than Curry who has contributed 26 points a game since Durant went to GS and 6 assists. At best if all of his assists were 3’s and they’re not, he’d contribute 54 points a game to the GS offense. Then, there’s also the fact that Wall is a better defensive player than Curry. The wizards haven’t lost 3 first overall draft picks to basically their entire rookie seasons because of injuries. We had one player limp through the season - Wall and he still averaged 19 pts & 9 assists- last year that didn’t happen to anyone, but it did happen the last time they didn’t make the playoffs when Beal and Nene both missed about 30 games in the 2015-16 season. OK first Embiid wasn't drafted 1st overall. Second, the 76ers as currently constructed won 52 games this year. The Wizards haven't won 50 games in a season since 1978.
