Oubre is a good defender when he tries, but he seems lost (just like he did last year in the playoffs).

He’s sucked on defense for since March. Brooks talks about how poor his defense has been every time a reporter asks him about Oubre’s shooting slump.

The Bullets/Wizards under Ernie Grunfeld are almost the textbook definition for mediocre in the NBA.

I’d say above average. Meaning, they usually win more than 41 games and have won 4 playoff series and nearly went to the conference finals 3 times. They nearly won 5 more series than they did in the last 15 years. They’ve been better than mediocre except for 09-12.

In comparison to the rest of the NBA (remember, half of it is basically a wasteland), they're mediocre.

You can keep harping on "nearly went" to the conference finals. They didn't. They fell short. Repeating that isn't going to change things.

They.

are.

mediocre.

Called in to the Junks this morning and told em Wall's gotta go!

Folks mistake Oubre's energy for good defense or offense. No doubt he's energetic. But he takes some really poor shots... and he's overaggressive on defense sometimes. Problem with trading him is we'd have zero youth.

That is... unless we traded Wall.

You’re 100% a DMV fan. Thinks Wall and Ovi are the problems lol

And you like star players more than your teams winning games of significance...

I'm curious to hear what you had to say in regards to trading Wall making the team better? Might as well trade Beal too right? Blow it up and start over.

Honestly, the NBA is stupid. Our only chance of ever winning was landing Durant and we blew it. No other marquee player will ever come here in free agency, so our only prayer is to draft one. May as well hit the tank for the next 5 years and hope something sticks, but we'll probably just end up being the Sacramento Kings

How does getting rid of the teams best players make the team better? How do you plan on replacing 50 goals a year?

Depends on what you get back, no? Tons of star players have been traded... in their primes. The question you ask is, do you see this team winning a Cup with Ovi in the next three years? If not, move on... get what you can... get younger.

Tanking in the NBA is the smart move. Not so sure in the NFL yet, but we shall see in a few years with Cleveland. Our problem is if we tank with Moron Brice at the helm we may never be heard from again.

When you have the NBA equivalent in the form of Ernie Grunfeld, you might be better off staying the course because it can certainly get worse.
