Fred Jackson is close to signing a one-day contract to retire as a Bill:

Have it in the works now,” Jackson said Wednesday, via the Buffalo News. “That’s the plan, to come back and show Buffalo that my career in Buffalo was the most important thing to me in my football career and I would love to retire as a Buffalo Bill.

“We’re in the works of talking and trying to work something out that will benefit both myself and Buffalo in making it happen.”

One of my favorite Bills players to watch. I still remember when he came over from NFL Europe and watched him in camp and I had a gut feeling that he would be a pretty decent player in the league and for our team. Definition of an all around player. Running between the tackles, blocking, catching, returning kicks and even throwing a TD pass to Lee Evans. Sucks we couldn't make the playoffs with him here but thankful for everything he's done here and glad to see him get this done and retire as a member of the team.

Happy Retirement Freddy!
