He did benefit from the most absurd expansion draft ever. I love watching purist hockey fans defend it like they got a bunch of scrubs and put on this incredible run. They stole a bunch of good players and then strong armed teams into stupid trades to keep the players they wanted. I told my wife, girlfriend at the time that they were going to be good. I'm not surprised by what they are doing at all.
