Better start this time than last game!

mom not going to bombard you all with questions all at once

can you explain the difference between the C and forwards ? What their responsibilities are. I see the C is like the QB, does that mean they’re normally the best players on the team?

Centers are forwards. It's just a specific position within the forward group, like a QB on offense in football. Right and Left wing are the other two forward positions.

There's not a huge ton of differences, to be honest. The biggest  is probably their defensive responsibilities as the center has much more to account for in terms of ice coverage. Wings will mostly cover guys along the boards and within a much smaller frame of space as they are going to be much faster to transition to offense to break out from the defensive zone. Centers also take the majority of face offs, but wingers will do that as well. Wingers have a little more ability to freelance and float than a center does.

Centers aren't necessarily the best players on the team, but you tend to over emphasize centers because most (not all, but most) centers can be wingers but a good chunk of wingers are playing there because they can't play center.

Otherwise, you can have a lot of overlap. Some centers may be puck controllers and play drivers more often, but wingers can do that as well (on the Devils, Bratt is the best example of that).

Thank you for that. So Centers I’m assuming chase the puck more in different areas and wingers stay in their zones more.

Lot less shots on goal this game compared to last
