2 Round Mock after Dez Bryant release

Didn’t do trades during 2nd round, but just put guys where I would assume they would go. Assume trade ups and downs in the round to acquire said players. Also, the way things are playing out at the time of this posting, Dez Bryant is most likely to land in Baltimore or Los Angeles with the Rams, according to reports.

ROUND 1

1.     Cleveland Browns – Sam Darnold QB USC

2.     New York Giants – Saquon Barkley RB Penn State

Barkley has been seen rocking a Giants sweater recently giving reason to believe that unless Cleveland pulls a fast one at #1 or Buffalo blows them away with a trade offer, that this is the direction they will be going.

3.     New York Jets (from IND) – Josh Rosen QB UCLA

*TRADE*

To Cleveland: 12th, 22nd, 117th ovr, 2019 1st rd pick

To Buffalo: 4th ovr pick

They need to make a move and do it now. Missed on Watson and Mahommes last year so they cannot risk missing out on a franchise QB moving forward. With McCarron on board, they do not need to worry about him having to play right away. Cleveland has so many holes to fill, they are happy to move down for a 2 extra 1st rounders.

4.     Buffalo Bills (from CLE via HOU) – Baker Mayfield QB Oklahoma

5.     Denver Broncos – Josh Allen QB Wyoming

6.     Indianapolis Colts (from NYJ) – Bradley Chubb EDGE NC State

7.     Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Derwin James DB Florida State

8.     Chicago Bears – Quentin Nelson OG Notre Dame

*TRADE*

To San Francisco: 12th ovr pick + 35th ovr

To Cleveland: 9th ovr pick + 59th ovr

Cleveland moves up 3 spots in exchange for moving down 24 spots in Rd 2 in order to land someone they were looking at taking #4. Ward drops after a run of QB’s and Tampa electing James instead. San Francisco is happy to move down in exchange for shooting to the top of the 2nd round.

9.     Cleveland Browns (from SF) – Denzel Ward CB Ohio State

10. Oakland Raiders – Raquon Smith LB Georgia

11. Miami Dolphins – Minkah Fitzpatrick DB Alabama

12. San Francisco 49ers (from CLE via BUF/CIN) – Tremaine Edmunds LB Florida State

13. Washington Redskins – Vita Vea DL Washington

14. Green Bay Packers – Calvin Ridley WR Alabama

15. Arizona Cardinals – DJ Moore WR Maryland

16. Baltimore Ravens – Connor Williams OT Texas

17. Los Angeles Chargers – Mike McGlinchey OT Notre Dame

18. Seattle Seahawks – Joshua Jackson CB Iowa

*TRADE*

To Dallas: 22nd ovr + 110th ovr + 117th ovr

To Cleveland: 19th ovr + 178th ovr + 179th ovr

Browns feel the need to leapfrog Detroit in order to guarantee themselves a top offensive weapon. Duke Johnson has never really proven himself to be very effective and pairing Guice with Hyde opens up more options in the backfield moving forward, taking pressure of Tyrod Taylor and eventually Darnold.

19. Cleveland Browns (from DAL) – Derrius Guice RB LSU

20. Detroit Lions – Hayden Hurst TE South Carolina

21. Cincinnati Bengals (from BUF) – Isaiah Wynn OG Georgia

22. Dallas Cowboys (from CLE via BUF/KC) – Rashaan Evans LB Alabama

23. New England Patriots (from LAR) – Marcus Davenport EDGE UTSA

24. Carolina Panthers – Christian Kirk WR Texas A&M

25. Tennessee Titans – Leighton Vander Esch LB Boise State

26. Atlanta Falcons – Da’Ron Payne DL Alabama

27. New Orleans Saints – Courtland Sutton WR SMU

*TRADE*

To Pittsburgh: 48th ovr + 84th ovr + 2019 3rd rd pick

To Los Angeles Chargers: 28th ovr

With the top players off the board, Pittsburgh is happy to move down, acquire more picks later. Chargers move up for their future QB, feeling the pressure of making their own splash in Los Angeles after all the action conducted by the Rams this offseason.

28. Los Angeles Chargers (from PIT) – Mason Rudolph QB Oklahoma State

29. Jacksonville Jaguars – Kolton Miller OT UCLA

30. Minnesota Vikings – Will Hernandez OG UTEP

31. New England Patriots – Lamar Jackson QB Louisville

*TRADE*

To Philadelphia: 33rd ovr + 161st ovr + 2019 7th rd pick

To Cleveland: 32nd ovr + 192nd ovr + 224th ovr

Simple trade up for Cleveland to be able to land the 5th year option on the players contract. Late picks exchange to accommodate the smallest of move ups on Day 1.

32. Cleveland Browns (from PHI) – Harold Landry EDGE Boston College

ROUND 2

33. Philadelphia Eagles (from CLE) – Dallas Goedert TE North Dakota State

Is it not fun to know that the only player that really needs to be replaced is your backup TE? This very well could be another trade down for Philly when the time comes.

34. New York Giants – James Daniels OG Iowa

35. San Francisco 49ers (from CLE) – Mike Hughes CB UCF

John Lynch has made it his business to build a strong defense through the draft. Rueben Foster being incapable of staying out of handcuffs made taking Edmunds in the 1st more important. They use their Day 1 trade down to fulfill their need of slotting a player opposite Richard Sherman.

36. Indianapolis Colts – Sony Michel RB Georgia

37. Indianapolis Colts (from NYJ) – Isaiah Oliver CB Colorado

38. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Ronald Jones II RB USC

39. Chicago Bears – Lorenzo Carter EDGE Georgia

40. Denver Broncos – Jaire Alexander CB Louisville

41. Oakland Raiders – DJ Clark WR LSU

42. Miami Dolphins – Maurice Hurst DL Michigan

43. New England Patriots (from SF) – Brian O’Neill OT Pittsburgh

44. Washington Redskins – Justin Reid DB Stanford

45. Green Bay Packers – Carlton Davis CB Auburn

46. Cincinnati Bengals – Frank Ragnow OL Arkansas

47. Arizona Cardinals – Orlando Brown OT Alabama

48. Pittsburgh Steelers (from LAC) – Ronnie Harrison DB Alabama

49. Indianapolis Colts (from SEA) – Billy Price OL Ohio State

50. Dallas Cowboys – Taven Bryan DL Florida

51. Detroit Lions – Lorenzo Carter EDGE Georgia

52. Baltimore Ravens – Mike Gesicki TE Penn State

53. Buffalo Bills – Braden Smith OG Auburn

54. Kansas City Chiefs – Quentin Meeks CB Stanford

55. Carolina Panthers – Donte Jackson CB LSU

56. Buffalo Bills (from LAR) – Deon Cain WR Clemson

57. Tennessee Titans – Sam Hubbard EDGE Ohio State

58. Atlanta Falcons – Ian Thomas TE Indiana

An Evan Engram type player that provides another dynamic to their offense, opening up a legitimate big play threat for Matt Ryan.

59. Cleveland Browns (from SF via NO) – James Washington WR Oklahoma State

60. Pittsburgh Steelers – Malik Jefferson LB Texas

61. Jacksonville Jaguars – Dante Pettis WR Washington

62. Minnesota Vikings – Jessie Bates III DB Wake Forest

63. New England Patriots – Harrison Phillips DL Stanford

64. Cleveland Browns (from PHI) – Tyrell Crosby OT Oregon

4 things:

1. It is illogical having Cleveland trade out of #4, because they have "so many needs to fill" and then trade up from #22 to leapfrog Detroit, for a RB...which is a pretty deep position.

2. I'm not saying Detroit absolutely wouldn't take Guice, because they do like him the best of all the RBs, but it would have to be a perfect storm of no edge rushers or DTs worth their pick at 20. In fact, OG/C would also take precedence over a RB, imo.

3. TE? Really! You've got to be yanking our chains, now.

4. Lorenzo Carter, as close as Detroit and Chicago are, cannot play for both teams.?

I worry about Oliver's fit in a zone defense but other than that this is great

What a horrible piece of crap (just my opinion)  Browns draft is just awful decent players but you don't give up Chubb for a bunch of pathetic ifs and reaches

I really hate this so much that I'd burn it if it weren't on my computer.

This is so bad for the Browns that it's really frustrating

Haven't we talked about your anger issues?  I thought you agreed to work on it.

The only one that could possibly be considered a reach is Guice, but I think he's worth it that high.  Ward, Washington, and Crosby are solid value, while Landry at 32 is a mega steal.  I think it's a really nice draft.
