Defensive players have tough sledding to get into the HOF period. They have to do it longer and better than their offensive counterparts. But the people just comparing the numbers, even if that's the argument HOF voters will make, are ridiculous. Simeon Rice? Joey Porter?

Simeon Rice isn't going to get into the hall except maybe on some veteran's committee decades from now because he played on the Bucs. Being one of the best pass rushers of your generation would hardly make him terrible inclusion though.
