gopherwrestler
Thread worthy. I didn’t see this coming. I also didn’t 100% predict it to be $10 M/ yr average. That’s a solid chunk of change for him. Barr/Diggs/Richardson/Hunter still to come
The Gnat
I think that's smart. Lock-up the QB of our defense (if I'm not mistaken he has the helmet dot). He's proven to be a very effective line-backer at this time and keeps the defense in tact and playing strong for a longer time. As a comparison, Bobby Wagner from Seattle got a 4 year $43 mil deal. So with Kendricks, I feel like that makes sense in terms of value. Keuchley, Wagner and Ogletree are three over $10 mil per year.
Robbroy45
Drew up a rough outline for a new deal when I was bored at work in October, guessed he'd get around 9.7 per year with 26 or so fully guaranteed. Thrilled to see this deal get done, the dude deserves it more than anyone on the team, maybe the league
RpMc
So much for him being the one potentially let go. Didn’t set the market, so when other contracts come up, this will continue to look pretty good.

Klomp
I have no idea if value is good, great or poor. But I like seeing guys get some security. Kendricks has made a lot less than Barr on their respective rookie deals, so I'm happy to see him get paid.

I always thought Barr was the one with the dot as well, but over the last couple of weeks PA and Wobby have both credited Kendricks with wearing the green dot. SemperFeist
It’s a 5 year extension, plus the final year of his rookie deal would make it a total of 6 years, $51.6M. That’s $8.6M AAV, which would put him as the 6th highest paid ILB right now.
PrplChilPill
I approve of this signing. He's a legit very good to great player. It's not free, but he is on the field for every play, not like some ILB that come off the field on 3rd down.

The Gnat
Don't have access to twitter to quote it like I normally would at work, but someone asked one of the local guys what Barr would want then if Kendricks got this, they said that they would expect Barr to get a similar contract if the Vikings kept him around. The Gnat
Oh, interesting, yeah, that clears up a lot. If they had franchised him as a LB, that would have been something like $18 mil for the year thanks to OLB's getting paid (maybe not that much, but high).
