Would Brett Favre Be a Good Broadcaster?

Difference of opinion as to whether he was auditioning or just meeting with network officials. Was he good or bad? Another Don Meredith? MNF turned down Bart Starr. Dan Fouts is a good broadcaster, Dan Marino does the CBS pre-game.

So is Brett Favre heading to the booth? If not then whom?

He's not a good broadcaster candidate because he cannot be concise and doesn't understand the value of brevity

He hems and haws and flounders around, tosses in a couple of aw shucks. He takes 9 minutes to make a 20 second point and by the time he gets there, you've forgotten what the hell the point was. He's also not a savant in terms of knowing the game inside and out. One of his more famous gaffes was he didn't know what "nickel" defense meant until many years into his career when Ty Detmer had to fill him in during a film session

He's also not quick-witted, an essential component of being in the booth with a partner and millions listening on TV. He's also too thin -skinned for the role, and we saw that yesterday when the reports came out that he bombed the audition. He immediately issued a retort saying it "went very well" because he can't abide the criticisms. He could do an occasional special piece here and there - but he's just not a good candidate for the job.

Fine human being, fantastic QB, poor candidate for that role.

He'd be entertaining if you can watch a game with him at a bar, with a few beers. But as a broadcaster? Probably not.

A happy medium to both of those? Pre game/post game/halftime shows.

I think you just described the leader of the free world. ;)

I wouldn't mind a liquored up Favre. NFL should start a tradition where he does the 2nd MNF game in opening week that way.

But otherwise he'd be no good as @Shanedorf described.

I've always wanted something like this haha.  With all the beer sponsors have a pay to listen to broadcast team ala PPV, let them be drunk and politically incorrect.  Won't ever happen but it would be super entertaining

This.  Favre is really entertaining and interesting to listen to in an interview where he can take his time and just talk, but I agree with your point 100%.  He's really not made for most television situations.  I don't even think he would be good for a pre-game show or a post-game show just because those shows have time restrictions constantly when topics are brought up.
