DrawABlank
Saw this idea elsewhere and thought it would make a nice change of pace from seeing the same old mocks as we get closer to D-Day. The premise is if you were drafting the whole draft-eligible class of a single NCAA School - and how you would value getting a group of lesser prospects against a few higher value ones. I have included some notable names for each school, but the list is not meant to be comprehensive. There are trades but with no way to value them I've only done them if a team would draft the same at a higher spot than the lower. Thoughts welcome -------------------- 1. Cleveland Browns - BAMA - Fitzpatrick, Payne, Ridley, Evans, Harrison, Averett, Hand, J.K. Scott While they absolutely need a QB, I don’t think they can pass on 4 legitimate 1st rounders to take Darnold/USC. 2. New York Giants - USC - Darnold, Jones, Green, Nwosu, Burnett Really hurts not to get an O lineman, but they do address EDGE and RB (as UGA would do) and they’ve never really valued LBers. I may be higher on Green and Nwosu than most, even as a Georgia fan. 3. New York Jets (from IND) - OKLA - Mayfield, Okoronkwo, O Brown, Andrews, Flowers Best QB available, and a nice collection of other talent as well. Unlike the Giants, they didn’t consider UGA. TRADE – CLE / IND4. Indianapolis Colts (from HOU/CLE) - UGA – Smith, Wynn, Carter, Michel, Chubb, Thompson, Wims, Atkins Georgia can’t slip any further, and the Colts’ needs match up well with LB, EDGE and OL, as well as getting their future RBBC. 5. Denver Broncos - OSU - Ward, Price, Hubbard, J Jones, Baker, Lewis They were gazumped for UGA, but with a CB, IOL and EDGE here as well as some interesting mid rounders, they are well set up. 6. Cleveland Browns (from NYJ/IND) - WYO - Josh Allen Obviously not what I’d do (he’s John Skelton to me) but I think they like him more than Rosen/Miller or Jackson/Alexander. And they can hardly fit that many more rookies on the roster after the 10 or so that Saban will send. 7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - NC ST - Chubb, Hill, W Richardson, Hines, Samuels I think they need to come away with a potential RB from this class, so they veer away from the local school. Chubb is hardly a bad consolation, and it adds significant DL depth. 8. Chicago Bears - V TECH - Edmunds, Settle, Edmunds, Teller, Stroman, Facyson Bit of a reach here, but I like how it matches up with need and while Edmunds isn’t Barkley or Nelson he comes with a far superior supporting cast. 9. San Francisco 49ers - ND - Nelson, McGlinchey, St Brown, Smythe They see Quenton Nelson and slam in the card. I don’t rate McGlinchey but at least he’s depth. 10. Oakland Raiders - PSU - Barkley, Gesicki, Hamilton, M Allen I know they need defense, but they drafted a safety high two years in a row and Barkley is just too tempting. 11. Miami Dolphins - FSU - James, Nnadi, Sweat, McFadden, Tate, Thomas Bit of an awkward spot for the Dolphins, but I’m inclined to give Tannehill one more year and this does help on the DL at least, plus the local connection. 12. Buffalo Bills - UCLA - Rosen, Miller, Quessenberry, Lansley No way Louisville makes it to 22, so they’ll go with their highest rated passer here, which I suspect is Rosen. They can grab defense later. TRADE – ARI/WAS13. Arizona Cardinals - LOU – L Jackson, Alexander, Christian The Cards can’t risk missing out on the other QB/OT combo platter, and they get a great corner into the bargain. 14. Green Bay Packers – LSU - Guice, Chark, D Jackson, Key, Tolliver, Weathersby, Clapp Good value here if you value depth – there are 4 or 5 more guys who will at least make training camps. 15. Washington Redskins - AUB - C Davis, K Johnson, B Smith, Holland, Carlson (K) I know they have needs on the DL, but Auburn is deep and it addresses the CB and G needs effectively, while providing an interesting option in the backfield. They at least got a bit of value for moving back. TRADE – SEA/BAL16. Seattle Seahawks (from BAL) - IOWA - J Jackson, Daniels, Jewell, Wadley, Boettger Two excellent matches for their needs, and I think Boettger might have potential to be at least a depth piece. 17. Los Angeles Chargers - TEX - Williams, Hill, Jefferson, Elliot, Ford, Dickson (P) Philosophical question here – they could easily go with Vea but that gives them no depth. Here they get some possible solutions but no standouts. 18. Baltimore Ravens (from SEA) - UCF - Hughes, Smith, Griffin, Atkins Hurts to trade away from Daniels, but I felt I had to give them some pass catchers in Smith and Atkins and the others are just good players who will find their way onto the field. 19. Dallas Cowboys – WAS - Vea, Pettis, Dissly I doubt they want to replace one high-maintenance WR with another by taking Florida, so let’s give them the other DT/WR combo. Trade – NE / DET20. New England Patriots (From LAR) - MIA - McIntosh, Norton, C Thomas, Herndon, Walton, Berrios, McDermott Instead of trading down for more picks, the Pats trade up for more picks (!). There aren’t a lot of bulk options left and they can get a single player school guy at 31 (unless Bill insists on Rutgers). Could also easily be Stanford here. 21. Cincinnati Bengals (from BUF) – TEXAS EL PASO – Will Hernandez They must get an Offensive Lineman somehow, and I don’t rate the Clemson or Pittsburgh pairings. Hernandez is rock solid but obviously no upside with a 1 player school. 22. Buffalo Bills - STAN - Phillips, Reid, Schultz, Meeks, Kalambayi They need defenders here and the last deep team in that area is still on the board – perfect. 23. Detroit Lions (from NE) – UTSA – Marcus Davenport No school offers a DL/RB combo at this stage, so they trade back and grab a single player with a higher grade than any RB (or, frankly, any other player). 24. Carolina Panthers – FLA - Bryan, Dawson, Callaway, Townsend, Pineiro, Straight up value pick here – Dawson and Callaway are need positions and Bryan is the value. 25. Tennessee Titans – BC - Landry, Yiadom They’ll take a pass rusher if one is available. I’m a fan of Yiadom’s traits. 26. Atlanta Falcons - MICH - Hurst, Cole, McCray They absolutely must leave the draft with a DT, so it’s Michigan here. 27. New Orleans Saints – SD ST - Goedert, Wieneke Somehow South Dakota State is a top 30 school – I’m as surprised as you are. Seriously, pickings are slim at this stage and I don’t like 25 year old rookies. 28. Pittsburgh Steelers - BOISE - LVE, Wilson Unless you’re a Mason Rudolph truther you might as well grab the last guaranteed 1st rounder in LVE, and Wilson has a bit of added value. 29. Jacksonville Jaguars - UMD - Moore, JC Jackson Not much to say – they need a pass catcher of some type and Jackson has more value than any other pairing. Again, if you like Rudolph you probably consider OKST 30. Minnesota Vikings – ORE - Crosby, Freeman, Carew (LS) Crosby has potential at guard or tackle, but they could go almost anywhere here. 31. New England Patriots – MEM - Miller, Avery, Ferguson I love Miller and think Avery could contribute – plus it does at least get them a QB. 32. Philadelphia Eagles - IND - Thomas, Scales, Cobbs No elite players here but a group of guys I liked when I watched them.

Bonanza23
Interesting idea, no way I pass on Darnold. We’re finally in position to take one we need to just do it.
MWil23
It would make a lot more sense for Cleveland to draft USC at #1 (Darnold, Jones, Green, Nwosu, Burnett) and then at #4: UGA – Smith, Wynn, Carter, Michel, Chubb, Thompson, Wims, Atkins They would solve their QB situation with Darnold, address some edge depth and major RB depth with a huge trio, plus adding first round talent at LB with Smith, and a lot of OL depth with the retirement of JT. Mastercheddaar
For Cleveland - Bama is the obvious choice at #1 overall. You are right too many 1st rounders to pass on. I wouldn't trade out of #4. I would go UCLA, UGA, tOSU or ND. I'd lean towards ND because we would get the #1 OG and a top 3 LT in the draft while getting a tall WR in St Brown. Rudolph and OK State would be my pick at #33. While Rudolph learned Taylor would have Ridley, Landry, Gordon to throw to and plenty of time with our super line blocking for him. Also then there is the defense.... That is all Mastercheddaar
Danger
This is terribly unfair for teams who do well.
