BrownLeader
Salute! Final Mock. Still working through some late scouting reports and comps but shoot any queries, adaptations or hate @ me here. ______________________________________________ 1. Cleveland Browns - Sam Darnold |QB| USC Darnold appears like the least volatile QB in this class even though he's the youngest. The former basketball player has quick feet, buys time and has tremendous arm talent. He’s like a football Billy Hoyle, regularly hustling defenders with his quickness, arm and boring personality. The catch is that he's a risk taker, turns the ball over too much and is coming out as a RS sophomore. NFL Comp. 6’3 Mark Brunell 2. New York Giants - Saquon Barkley |RB| Penn St “You don't quit on talent” could as easily apply to future gold jacket wearing Eli as to OBJ. Manning hasn't really declined much, he's just been running for his life and having to carry the entire offense the last couple seasons. Barkley is a Bronx guy and a unique all purpose talent with a hall of fame personality that Gettleman might not want to pass. At times he's like a bigger Barry Sanders, but he couches that by at other times being like a bigger Reggie Bush. NFL Comp. taller Maurice Jones Drew 3. New York Jets - Baker Mayfield |QB| USC What the Wentz/Goff trades prove is that it doesn't matter how much you give up if you get the right guy. Mayfield's the best downfield thrower in this class, the most accurate and has the biggest arm between Darnold and Rosen but the relationship with his coaches will be crucial to his success. Regarded as a leader, worker, and quick learner, the biggest question mark at this point are those volatile personality intangibles. NFL Comp. slower, sketchy Russell Wilson 4.TRADE Buffalo Bills (CLE) - Josh Allen |QB| Wyoming Possessing #1 overall pick tools but awful junior tape and a surgically repaired shoulder, Allen is the top boom/bust prospect in this draft. You could make an argument that if you're going to trade up for a QB, he better have some unique talent….and Allen’s tools are certainly unique. Ideally, his best fit would be to a team that doesn't really need to look at QB for another 2-3 seasons. Chances are that's not Buffalo, although I do like McCarron more than most. NFL Comp: pro ready Logan Thomas 5. Denver Broncos - Josh Rosen |QB| UCLA Keenum's last season could very well be an outlier and Rosen’s the most gifted passer in this class. His durability concerns and intangibles will factor into his evaluation and some clubs and fan bases might have a problem with a brash, affluent, outspoken liberal as the face of the franchise but that's a hollow negative. More pressing will be his personality mesh with the coaches and scheme..and staying healthy. NFL Comp. injury prone Eli Manning 6. Indianapolis Colts - Bradley Chubb |DE| NC State Chubb appears to be one of the safest picks in the draft. He's got an all day motor, great technique and strong hands. He plays the run and rushes the pass equally well. An asset in the locker room and a leader on the field, if a bit extra at times. All that said, I think he's a tad overrated as an impact player. He's straight line-ish and not overly strong. NFL Comp: Olivier Vernon 7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Minkah Fitzpatrick |CB/S| Alabama Minkah was a better CB than Marlon Humphrey and a better safety than Ha Ha Clinton Dix at Bama. I think he could be tried at either position as a pro and thrive. NFL Comp. Rod Woodson-ish 8. Chicago Bears - Quenton Nelson |OG| Notre Dame High 1st round interior OL players haven't fared well lately but the law of averages has to kick in at some point. Nelson's a superior prospect to the trio of Schreff, Cooper and Warmack and the Bears are looking to mash opponents into the ground with the running game and as they continue to bring Mitchell along. NFL Comp. fatter Steve Hutchinson 9. San Francisco 49ers - Derwin James |S| Florida St James is arguably the top athletic defensive freak in this class. He could legitimately play S or OLB. He's got some Adrian Wilson, Sean Taylor to his game but he's still fairly raw. NFL Comp. Sean Taylor 10. Oakland Raiders - Vita Vea |DT| Washington The next freak pro Polynesian. Size, quickness and strength can't be missed on film. Not as consistent as you'd like but he's gifted and coachable. NFL Comp: faster Star Lotulelei 11. Miami Dolphins - Lamar Jackson |QB| Louisville Jackson's not ready to throw at a NFL level yet, but the tools are all there. He could eventually end up something like a more explosive version of Tyrod Taylor if not Vick pt II. He'll be an exciting offensive experiment in any case and the Dolphins need hope and a new identity.NFL Comp. faster, less clutch 6’3 Vince Young 12. TRADE Cleveland Browns (BUF) - Derrius Guice |RB| LSU Guice is like the son of beast mode, and I think,at least on the field, the space between he and Barkley is thinner in team rooms than in the draft media. Barkley’s faster and more fluid but Guice is quicker and plays through contact much better. There are reports out there that some execs have him as the RB#1 in this class. NFL Comp: faster Ahmad Bradshaw 13. Washington Redskins - Da'Ron Payne |DT| Alabama Explosive off the snap and can wreck things in the backfield. But he’s not the run stuffer he looks like he should be. He’s really a 3T pass rusher in a NT’s body. NFL Comp. bigger Stephen Paea 14. Green Bay Packers - Denzel Ward |CB| Ohio St Ward's a phenomenal athlete that can mirror anyone and will hit like a bigger player. His stature is really his only weakness. NFL Comp. smaller Darius Slay 15. Arizona Cardinals - Harold Landry |DE/OLB| Boston College Landry had a down year mostly due to injury but I'm still a believer. Elite first step quickness, flexibility and a high motor are traits worth betting on. He flashes strong hands and the ability to get stout on the edge but his leverage and tackling are inconsistent. NFL Comp. Vic Beasley 16. Baltimore Ravens - Calvin Ridley |WR| Alabama Stand out speed, quickness and length on his 6’1 frame. Not a beast at the catch point or especially strong overall but has elite quickness and yac ability. NFL Comp. taller Eddie Royal 17. Los Angeles Chargers - Roquan Smith |LB| Georgia Smith's got a forever motor, speed and smarts that almost make up for his smallish size. Flashes some stoutness or skirts around blocks with great quickness but will most likely need to be scheme protected. NFL Comp. weaker Jatavis Brown 18. Seattle Seahawks - Marcus Davenport |OLB| UTSA Davenport was an unheralded beast at UTSA. Despite a slow start he flashed in Mobile senior week and I've got a hunch he's higher on team boards than in the media. Long and rangy with a devastating first step, he uses leverage well and has a big motor on the field. NFL Comp Manny Lawson with a first step 19. Dallas Cowboys - Taven Bryan |DT| Florida Bryan explodes out of his stance and into the backfield. His upside is intriguing and his stock will soar if he tests like he looks on film. His upfield rush is elite, but his mobility is a little linear, he's on the ground a lot and he lacks strength to finish. NFL Comp: Derek Wolfe 20. Detroit Lions - Isaiah Wynn |OG/T| Georgia Wynn was a forceful run blocker at Georgia who held his own at OT in the passing game. Senior week he was arguably the most dominant player at any position. He's an easy projection as a blue chip interior pro lineman and could hold it down at RT if needed. NFL Comp: Will Shields-y. 21. Cincinnati Bengals - Will Hernandez |OG| UTEP Hernandez is a first off the bus type guy that actually backs it up on the field. He's a classic overpowering, mean, physical mauler with some quickness. NFL Comp: Richie Incognito 22. TRADE - Cleveland Browns (BUF) - Mike Hughes |CB| UCF Hughes is a cat quick guy who plays with pop for a smaller guy. Great returner and top end potential as a man to man cover corner. NFL Comp. Adam Jones 23. New England Patriots (LAR) - Mason Rudolph |QB| Oklahoma St Rudolph doesn’t have a cannon and comes from the raid but his accuracy is top notch. Given time to acclimate, he could be a decent pro QB. NFL Comp. Andy Dalton 24. Carolina Panthers - Jaire Alexander |CB| Louisville Coming off a down year plagued by injury, Alexander looked like a 1st round talent at the combine. NFL Comp. Adoree Jackson 25. Tennessee Titans - Tremaine Edmunds |LB| Virginia Tech Edmunds is an all upside guy with his length, athleticism and youth. But his instincts are poor and his physicality doesn't quite match his size yet. NFL Comp: weaker Scott Fujita 26. Atlanta Falcons - Christian Kirk |WR| Texas A&M Kirk’s a reliable speed receiver with strength, sharp routes and has vice hands. NFL Comp. Randall Cobb 27. New Orleans Saints - Leighton Vander Ecsh |LB| Boise St Ecsh is arguably the top coverage backer in this class but at 250lbs could develop into an all around big time LB. NFL Comp. bigger Kiko Alonso 28. Pittsburgh Steelers - Rashaan Evans |LB| Alabama Not quite as explosive as recent Bama ILBs but Evans is versatile, reliable and a thumper. NFL Comp. Mychal Kendricks 29. Jacksonville Jaguars - Connor Williams |OG| Texas Not long ago regarded as the #1 OT on many boards, I wasnt near as high on him and it appears many now recognize he'll likely play inside. His feet are just adequate and his technique can get erratic. But at OG Williams could become a difference maker, particularly in the run game. NFL Comp. Robert Gallery 30. Minnesota Vikings - Kolton Miller |OT| UCLA Highly athletic and explosive off the snap. Inconsistent but he's carrying the tools to be the best OT in this class. NFL Comp. Will Beatty 31. New England Patriots - Hayden Hurst |TE| South Carolina Older ginger prospect but he's an explosive TE with great hands. NFL Comp. Travis Kelce 32. Philadelphia Eagles - Braden Smith |OG| Auburn Smith may need a transition period coming out of Auburn's scheme but he's a blue Chip OL with very few weaknesses. NFL Comp. Adam Snyder ROUND 2 ____________________ 33. Cleveland Browns - D.J. Chark |WR| LSU Chark is a legit field stretcher and has good hands. He's a high cut, angular runner but his quickness and stop/start is exceptional. NFL Comp. 6’3 Martavis Bryant 34. New York Giants - Billy Price |OC| Ohio St Price was a solid OG in 16’ but became the most dominant OC in the nation last year. Big time run blocker and a technician in the pass game. NFL Comp Nick Mangold 35. Cleveland Browns - Brian O’Neill |OT| Pitt Unusually athletic OT still moves around like he's playing TE. Could be a fixture at LT eventually. NFL Comp. Eric Winston 36. Indianapolis Colts - D.J. Moore |WR| Maryland Moore's a draft riser but I'm lukewarm on him. I think he's an undersized nondescript workout warrior. NFL Comp. Corey Coleman 37. Indianapolis Colts - Josh Jackson |CB| Iowa Jackson had a monster year and proved to be the most productive CB in the nation. He's a pro looking corner with few weaknesses. Not a blazer but possesses length, quickness and tremendous ball skills. Still learning the position and might have some hiccups adjusting to NFL speed but he should continue to be a big playmaker as a pro. NFL Comp: soft Aqib Talib 38. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - Ronald Jones |RB| USC Jones is potentially a dominant zone runner in the mold of his idol, Jamaal Charles. The upside is obvious but I think his patience/vision needs work. NFL Comp. Felix Jones 39. Chicago Bears - Courtland Sutton |WR| SMU Sutton has size and short area quickness to burn but needs to play to his size and ****** balls better. NFL Comp. quicker Devin Funchess 40. Denver Broncos - Mike McGlinchey |OT| Notre Dame A big, basic OT that is a technician and carries an ideal temperament but is a poor athlete and often a liability in both the run and pass. NFL Comp: Jeremy Trueblood 41. Oakland Raiders - Hercules Mata'Afa |DE| Washington St Undersized but gets into the backfield at will. Explosive and strong moving forward but has flashed open field mobility, backpedal and click & close. Forever motor. Needs to be coached up to play on the edge but has the tools to thrive there. NFL Comp. stronger Jabaal Sheard 42. Miami Dolphins - Mike Gesiki |TE| Penn St Highly athletic, acrobatic TE that wasn't as dominant a player as his testing suggests. NFL Comp. Jared Cook 43. New England Patriots - Nick Chubb |RB| Georgia Solid all around back despite not looking quite as explosive post knee injury. Still, a #1RB that should produce. NFL Comp. Carlos Hyde 44. Washington Redskins - James Daniels |OC| Iowa Likely the most athletic OC in this class and carries plenty of upside. NFL Comp. Jeremy Zuttah 45. Green Bay Packers - Sony Michel |RB| Georgia Michel's a #1 RB that in some years might be considered first round worthy. Ball security is his only drawback. NFL Comp. stronger C.J. Prosise 46. Cincinnati Bengals - Maurice Hurst |DT| Michigan Hurst has an obnoxious motor and uses every part of his body to battle inside. Lack of prototypical measurables is the drawback. NFL Comp: weaker Kyle Williams 47. Arizona Cardinals - Luke Falk |QB| Washington St Owner of a quick release and impressive accuracy but he's a little injury prone and checks down too often. But given time to get stronger and confidence in a pro system, Falk could be a starting QB. NFL Comp. tall Case Keenum 48. LA Chargers - Lorenzo Carter |OLB| Georgia Runs like a CB and has set up all over, at the los and in space but hasn't played to his ability and lacks strength/instincts. NFL Comp. weaker Anthony Barr 49. Indianapolis Colts - Josey Jewell |LB| Iowa Marginal size/speed is making him one of the most slept on prospects in this class. He’ll be more productive than others taken ahead of him at the position. NFL Comp. James Laurinitias 50. Dallas Cowboys - James Washington |WR| Oklahoma St Physical, compact guy that bullies into his routes and has an extra gear but he's inexperienced vs the press and has a limited route tree. NFL Comp. stiffer Golden Tate 51. Detroit Lions - Kerryon Johnson |RB| Auburn Johnson pound for pound is the most physical RB in this class. Versatility is a strength as he's a good pass protector, receiver and short yardage back. NFL Comp. less durable Fred Jackson 52. Baltimore Ravens - Frank Ragnow |OC| Arkansas Ragnow's one of the better center prospects to come out of late but declared in an especially deep class for the position. NFL Comp. 53. TRADE - Cleveland Browns (BUF) - Harrison Phillips |DT| Stanford Phillips regularly eats up doubles and shakes free for pressure. Overlooked but I'll wager he'll be one of the most effective interior lineman of this class. NFL Comp. Michael Brockers 54. Kansas City Chiefs - Justin Reid |S/CB| Stanford Corner, safety tweener with speed and the ability to play any position in the secondary but is a little soft and a leaky tackler. NFL Comp. Walt Aikens 55. Carolina Panthers - Josh Sweat |DE| Florida St Solid, unspectacular college end that played the run and pass well but has the high end athleticism to develop into a much better pro. NFL Comp. Danielle Hunter 56. Buffalo Bills - Dallas Goedert |TE| South Dakota St Small school star wasn't able to verify that talent pre draft. Top notch agility and hands but he lacks all around explosiveness. NFL Comp. slower Austin Seferian Jenkins 57. Tennessee Titans - Nathan Shepherd |DE| Fort Hays St Man among boys at his level but carried into senior week and was dominant before getting injured. NFL Comp. Mike Daniels 58. Atlanta Falcons - Ty Crosby |OG| Oregon Abusive people mover that could be a blue chip interior guy. NFL Comp. smaller Kelechi Osemele 59. San Francisco 49ers - DaeSean Hamilton |WR| Penn St Superior route running and quick feet outweigh his pedestrian speed and size. NFL Comp. softer Jarvis Landry 60. Pittsburgh Steelers - Isaiah Oliver |CB| Colorado Oliver's a long fluid corner coming out of what's becoming a CB factory in Boulder. Project type but plenty of upside. NFL Comp. faster Logan Ryan 61. Jacksonville Jaguars - Shaq Griffin |S/LB| UCF A utility knife that flies around at warp speed and is disruptive but his missing apendage shows some up in tackling and taking on blocks. NFL Comp. Mark Barron 62. Minnesota Vikings - Orlando Brown |OT| Oklahoma Throwback who looks better than his namesake. Length, ferocity and technique are strengths and mask awful lateral agility. NFL Comp: Phil Loadholt 63. New England Patriots - Carlton Davis |CB| Auburn Davis’ length, speed and physicality show up and usually make up for his high cut stiffness. NFL Comp. Trumaine Johnson 64. Cleveland Browns - Andrew Brown |DT| Virginia Brown had a somewhat inconsistent career at Virginia before looking like a dominant player in Mobile all week at practice and the Senior Bowl game. At Virginia he played a lot of DE in odd and even fronts. He frequently stood up out of a 2 point stance and moved around as well as dropping in coverage. Senior week he simply sat inside in a 3 point stance at DT, and blew past everyone trying to block him. NFL Comp: Darnell Dockett ROUND 3 ____________________ 65. Buffalo Bills - Anthony Miller |WR| Memphis NFL Comp. Derek Mason 66. New York Giants - Sam Hubbard |OLB| Ohio State NFL Comp. Trent Murphy 67. Indianapolis Colts - R.J. McIntosh |DT| Miami NFL Comp. Kawaan Short 68. Houston Texans - Jamarco Jones |OT| Ohio St NFL Comp. Joe Barksdale 69. New York Giants - Duke Dawson |CB| Miami NFL Comp 70. San Francisco 49ers (CHI) - John Kelly |RB| Tennessee NFL Comp. choppy Kareem Hunt 71. Denver Broncos - Michael Gallup |WR| Colorado St NFL Comp. tall Josh Huff 72. New York Jets - Chad Thomas |DE| Miami NFL Comp. 73. Miami Dolphins - Quinton Meeks |CB/S| Stanford NFL Comp. 74. San Francisco 49ers - Mason Cole |OG| Michigan NFL Comp. Jason Kelce 75. Oakland Raiders - Anthony Averett |CB| Alabama NFL Comp. 76. Green Bay Packers - Equanimeous St. Brown |WR| Notre Dame NFL Comp. taller Terrance Williams 77. Cincinnati Bengals - Will Clapp |C| LSU NFL Comp. 78. Kansas City Chiefs - Parry Nickerson |CB| Tulane NFL Comp: 79. Arizona Cardinals - Dante Pettis |WR| Washington NFL Comp. weaker Devante Adams 80. Houston Texans (SEA) - Durham Smythe |TE| Notre Dame NFL Comp. Hunter Henry 81. Dallas Cowboys - Austin Corbett |OG| Nevada NFL Comp. Joel Bitonio 82. Detroit Lions - Ian Thomas |TE| Indiana NFL Comp. Virgil Green 83. Baltimore Ravens - Kemoko Turay |DE/OLB| Rutgers NFL Comp. Kansas City Chiefs - Arden Key |DE/OLB| LSU NFL Comp. Shilique Calhoun 87. LA Rams - Uchenna Nwosu |LB| USC NFL Comp. Sio Moore 88. Carolina Panthers - Keke Coutee |WR| Texas Tech NFL Comp. faster Jeremy Kerley 89. Tennessee Titans - Rod Taylor |OG| Ole Miss NFL Comp: Jeff Allen 90. Atlanta Falcons - B.J. FalconFan13
I would change 2 picks in this draft and be pretty happy with it overall how it fell for us Atlanta Falcons (26) Christian Kirk |WR| Texas A&M (58) Ty Crosby |OG| Oregon (90) B.J. Hill |DT| NC State (126) Isaac Yiadom |CB| Boston College - Changed to Tim Settle - DT (200) Reggie McKenzie |DT| Tennessee - (244) Olubunmu Rotimi |DE| Old Dominion - Changed to Flowers - FB - We need a FB badly and have to get a good one in the draft in the later rounds. (256) Ryan Izzo |TE| Miami Other than that im ok with the draft even though ew don't need a OG now so thats a bit of a wasted pick so early but he a solid talent i might go TE there over Crosby. The Gnat
Hard to judge the mock as it gets off to a poor start in round two when you have the Vikings draft a 2nd OT, now, if Brown is moving inside to OG, I can see it maybe, but more likely they'd take CB there and go with Davis. That then changes up your round three, and so on and so forth, so you can see how it would be hard to judge. Getting two OT's is not a need for the Vikings, getting two OL is not likely a need for the Vikings.

Jacksonville Jaguars (29) Connor Williams |OG| Texas (61) Shaq Griffin |S/LB| UCF (93) Malik Jefferson* |LB| Texas (129) Akrum Wadley |RB| Iowa (203) Kurt Benkert |QB| Virginia (230) Jeremy Reaves |CB| South Alabama (247) Nick Bawden |FB| San Diego St not a big fan of williams. would rather go Braden smith if were going Oline. there is 0 need to go LBer and Lber again. we need a Sam LBer. we also dont need a FB as apparently we love Bohanon. Team needs: OT, OG, TE, WR, CB, DL.

Chubb/Moore/Jackson is a dream, McIntosh is a great fit for the new scheme, Ballage compliments Mack pretty well, and I'd strongly consider Okoronkwo in the 2nd round. Have not watched any of Wade or Weah.
bigdog2372
No way we close out Saturday with only 2 defensive players drafted. Exchange Fitzpatrick for James and the first 2 rounds are perfect. Thereafter we need lots of Defensive depth especially at The front and back ends. Maybe one OL too. We certainly don’t need 2 wrs. Frankly I would be mildly surprised if we draft 1. MOSteelers56
I'd really like this draft for Pittsburgh. I'm a huge fan of Avery in the 5th. I understand the pick of Oliver in the 2nd but I think I'd prefer Sam Hubbard. I wouldn't complain with Oliver, though.
Blink
GB is simply not taking a RB that early unless it’s Barkley. GB has a solid backfield now that goes three deep, they very rarely take RBs that early and it’s especially unlikely with guys like Oliver are still on the board. Edge, WR, TE, ILB, OL are much bigger needs
Hootlander1
Only got through 2 rounds and I gave you an F for the Bills. Right Idea in Round 1 but wrong QB. Allan is a failure waiting to happen. Most other drafts he is a 3rd round talent. Having a big arm is to play in Buffalo is media and amateur hype. How many times do you throw down field in winter here in Buffalo or any place for that matter? A study came out earlier in the week that showed the level that a Player meets in college is his ceiling. Another study has shown that only Stafford has had success in the NFL if they had a sub 60% passing rating. For those reasons give us Rosen. Are you talking about Logan Thomas the QB from VT? If so he was a failure and is playing as a backup TE for Buffalo. Secondly we don't need TE. in Round 2 we will go WR , LB, or D line. I realize the time and effort it takes to do one of these. Just have a thing about how bad Allan is and will be.

badgers0821
For the Packers replace Michel in round 2 for Lorenzo Carter and it's a decent draft. The back to back WR may be overkill, see if there is a worthy TE in the somewhere. Also, they have 12 picks, I think you missed one in the 7th, it shouldn't matter as we won't keep all 12 anyway. Finally, I highly doubt Leon Jacobs goes undrafted, some scouts have mentioned he may not make it past the 4th, so give him to GB with one of their 7th rounders. I gotta say though, Miller and Brown are 2 of my least favorite guys in this draft. Would be brutal for my personal morale. Props on the 7 rounder though it's not easy! BowserBroncos
Despite drafting a QB - which won't happen - nice mock for Denver. McGlinchey at 40 would be amazing, but won't happen too...he won't fall that far and the Bears won't let him pass in the 2nd

Keenum is just a journeyman who had a great season ...and still got released by his team. There's no way he's the guy moving forward.
