bucsfan333
You don't need to bother watching the draft. I'm about to tell you what's gonna happen. 1.7 -- Quenton Nelson [ G ] Notre Dame 6’5” 329lbs | 7.65 three cone | 4.62 shuttle | 26.5” vert | 105” broad jump | 35 reps I think he's the guy who falls. With both Denver and Indy ahead of us and looking to move back, we miss out on a trade down. But we luck into the best player in the draft, in my opinion. We've really put an emphasis on getting better and meaner in the trenches. Nelson is definitely both. We had him in for a private visit. We even brought in his fellow Notre Dame teammate, Mike McGlinchey. 2.6 -- Rashaad Penny [ RB ] San Diego State 5’11” 220lbs | 4.46 40 | 120” broad jump | 32.5” vert | 13 reps With Barkley, Guice, and maybe Michel likely to go in the first round, that leaves Penny, Chubb, Jones, and Johnson as possible second round picks. I think Barkley, Guice, Michel, and Chubb are all gone before we pick. And last year showed that a deep RB class has guys fall. Penny’s built like Dougie, but he's faster and he can catch. He's a guy Koetter can eventually give 20 carries a game. We brought him in for a private visit. 4.2 -- Natrell Jamerson [ S ] Wisconsin 6’0 198lbs | 4.4 40 | 35.5” vert | 120” broad jump | 25 reps He's kind of undersized. But he's fast and really athletic. He's a converted WR, so he's got great ball skills. He's really strong for a guy his size. He's also a good return man. He'll start out on special teams (and maybe KR) and have a chance to get defensive reps. We were at his pro day. 5.7 -- Tre’Quan Smith [ WR ] Central Florida 6’1” 210lbs | 4.49 40 | 6.97 three cone | 4.5 shuttle | 37.5” vert | 130” broad jump We've scouted a few WRs this year. We're stacked right now, with probably the best depth in the league. But DJax and Hump are both likely gone after this year. Smith has great size and exceptional athleticism. He's just really raw. We had a private workout with him. 6.6 -- Mark Walton [ RB ] Miami (FL) 5’10” 188lbs | 4.6 40 | 31.5” vert | 118" broad jump | 18 reps We double dip at RB. Otherwise we're bringing back Charles Sims. Walton's bad 40 time drops him. But he's a good receiver with some wiggle to his game. He can challenge for reps as a third down back, but he'll be a gameday inactive while he works on his pass blocking and puts on a little weight. We had a private workout with him. 6.28 -- Chase Litton [ QB ] Marshall 6’6” 232lbs | 4.9 40 | 7.49 three cone | 4.53 shuttle | 29.5” vert | 106" broad jump Fitzmagic won't be around forever and Griffin has yet to take a meaningful snap. Litton’s got a big arm and he can really spin the ball. But he's a project. A lot of his deficiencies sound familiar: deep ball accuracy, bad INTs, trouble with progressions from time to time. But physically, he can play QB. He was in on a local visit. 7.37 -- J.T. Thomas [ CB ] Oklahoma 6’0” 186lbs | 4.64 40 | 6.28 three cone | 3.94 shuttle | 38” vert | 124” broad jump | 4 reps He's got length and great athleticism. He just lacks straight line speed. Which is why he falls and fits in our defense. That three cone time is stupid. He has off field concerns. But he's got exceptional ball skills. We met with him at the East West Shrine Game. That’s great. The 3 highlights for me are Nelson, Penny and Walton. All would really help the offense. Let Jameis step up and keep the defense honest while being able to move people at the LOS. Only thing that I wish we could get in the draft would be a dominant DB and to me that means we need a 1st round S or DB. But if we don’t trade with our 1st or 2nd round picks, I could dig this. I'd definitely prefer to take Fitz. Or trade back a little and take James. But I don't think either is gonna happen. Not if Nelson (who Justo has dubbed Bane) falls to seven.
