minutemancl
Giants make it easy on me by not having any picks after the 5th round. Round 1, #2 overall The Giants select Saquon Barkley, RB Penn State Barkley completely changes the offense. He's a perfect prospect. I've talked about him enough that this is all I'll say here. Other options: -Bradley Chubb: best DE in the draft. -Sam Darnold: if available, I think he's probably the pick over Barkley. Round 2, #34 overall The Giants select Tyrell Crosby, OT Oregon This is a player who I have come around to only recently. Recent buzz is a lot of linemen are going to go round 1, and with good reason. Crosby is one of the few guys who will most likely be available at 34 and can actually play LT someday. For now, he is a plug and play RT. Other options: -Nick Chubb: if we don't go Barkley in round 1. -Billy Price: interior OL who would also be a solid pick. Round 3, #66 overall Giants select Shaquem Griffin, OLB UCF Gettleman has done a nice job giving Bettcher decent players to fill out his depth chart, but there is still no money backer. Shaquem Griffin fixes that. Great locker room presence as well. Round 3, #69 overall Giants select Alex Cappa, OT/G Humboldt State Not a very well kept secret sleeper pick. Cappa fits the hogmolly definition to a T. He can play inside but has tackle feet. Other options (for both #66 and #69): -Lorenzo Carter: more OLB talent, more edge rushing talent. -Braden Smith: more OL talent. -Arden Key: polarizing prospect who may be worth a gamble here. Round 4, #108 overall The Giants select Daesean Hamilton, WR Penn State In a weak WR class, Hamilton is the best route runner out of them all. He's also a very good blocker, something Penn State asks their WRs to do a lot. Shurmur does not use his 3rd receiver a lot, so Hamilton would get few reps of in game action, but he is a great option for third downs. Giants have been linked to him as well. Round 5, #139 overall Giants select Maurice Hurst, DL Michigan Yup, that Maurice Hurst. Word is that a couple teams have taken Hurst off their board completely due to medical issues. I say take a leap of faith and potentially get a Grady Jarrett like steal by taking Hurst with your last pick. Other options: -a P or K. We are severely lacking in those areas. Hastily put together, but there it is. Let me know what you think.
