jetsfan4life51
Didn't read the other posts but they've done studies in hockey, I'm sure other sports too, where kids born in Jan-March had the most success because they were the oldest/biggest. The ones who were born Sept-Dec rarely made it to all star/national teams compared to the early birth months because they weren't scouted as much. Your son will get a ton of attention staying with his group if that's what you want. However there is also the argument if you move him up that will push him harder to be a better player. My best friend is 10 months older than me but his mom held him back so we were the same grade growing up. He was never a star by any means but growing up he had a huge advantage because he developed first. He was good in our class, but if he was a year ahead he would have been below average.
