"You have to think the Packers considered Alexander a prospect on the same level as Edmunds and James. Otherwise, all this trading around made no sense at all. If Edmunds or James ends up being a difference maker, and Alexander doesn’t, this was a mistake. Even though the Packers came out with New Orleans’ 2019 first-rounder, they more than anything need a playmaker on defense. They can’t afford to have passed on a good player for future draft capital, especially at the cost of a third-rounder this year to move back up from 27 to 18. I’m a little skeptical even though they got a late No. 1 in 2019. Is the Packers’ roster good enough to be pushing players into the 2019 draft at the expense of this year?

We've still a number of needs and now have no Round 3 selection. So either we're gonna package a whole bunch of those back end selections go get back to where the gettings good - or we're hoping alot of difference makers will exist on Day 3 - which I'm not sure has always been the case.

An extra #1 in 2019 is great - but - its with a pretty decent team (not a bottom feeder) and it took us out of claiming difference makers in this years draft.

Remaining selections:

Round 2 - 45

Round 4 - 101 + 133

Round 5 - 138 + 147 + 172 + 174

Round 6 - 207

Round 7 - 232 + 239 + 248

It really comes down to how bad the medical report on Landry really is.

Stay away from medical issue guys. We've more than had our fill and they create roster holes that take up too many personnel moves to patch up.

Watching more of Lorenzo Carter, he'd be a nice pick in the 2nd round. Guy is big with long arms.

Isaiah Oliver would definitely be awesome to pick up, he's also another big corner with press man skills. I actually have him as my 3rd corner behind Jaire and Ward.

Upside of not having a third round pick: the Packers will not be selecting a Fackrell, or Khyri Thornton, or Richard Rodgers, or Alex Green.  It's been a long time since this team hit on a 3rd round pick (Burnett was the last one), though I have hope for Adams.

Have a feeling we’ll package a 4th and 5th rounder (maybe more) to move back into the late 3rd round.  There’s plenty of teams short on picks this year that would like to get more.

Those were TT's selections and he's out of the loop now - so the general rule "the higher you pick the better you get applies" - and a whole bunch of talent will disappear in Round 3.

We still need that EDGE guy - a WR who'll actually make a contribution - an OL guy who we'll need before year #3.........

Sutton is a beast. If Oliver or Jackson is there at 45 can we justify taking another CB and playing Jaire in the slot?

I dont see how they could afford to double up at CB with our (currently) only Round 2 selection 45 - then sit around until the 4th round.

As it stands now, we've got eight (8) picks fifth round or lower.

Remaining selections:

Round 2 - 45

Round 4 - 101 + 133

Round 5 - 138 + 147 + 172 + 174

Round 6 - 207

Round 7 - 232 + 239 + 248

I'm pretty sure more than one person had to think Kyler Fackrell was good in order for that pick to happen, it's not just the former GM.

TT was the guy who pulled the trigger on those selections and he's out of the decision making loop now. Who else (other than TT) was involved in the pre-draft discussions (?) - neither of us know - but ultimately it was TT's decision.
