Apollo Stallion
And there's the blocking TE as I hoped. I had Izzo and Wells higher, but evaluating blocking TE's ain't exactly a science. Gaine understands roster building and nuance. Really wonder what Holton Hill did as we are way past where some minor pot smoking would have dropped him. Longhorns90
Last one of the round is Peter Kalambayi, a second Stanford guy, this time at LB

I think he lacks explosion to be a consistent pass rush threat, but he should be a heady addition (fits the theme)
Apollo Stallion
Kalamabayi is about what you ask for in a late/late 6th rounder. Dude was a top 100 overall recruit in the nation as a high schooler and looked poised for great things his first two years at Stanford, but never quite took the next step. You gotta love the tools and he'll project as a great special teamer and a rotational LB who can play inside and out. Remember, Stanford plays a pretty conservative defense, so if he's unleashed as an attacking pass rusher there could be more upside. Decent gamble at replacing the Simon role. Clockwork draft maximizing value and appropriate need.
Texansfan713
We picked a CB but not the one I wanted. Ugg Holton Hill would have been nice value in round 7.
Texansfan713
I grade this draft a B-. Love the Reid, Rankin, and Coutee picks. The other picks are questionable.

Apollo Stallion
Kelly is a big strong CB (6' 1") which we don't have and 4.4 - 4.5 speed, so he's got unique tools to our team. Washington transfer. Can't say I know much else about him, but I know we brought him in for a visit a few weeks ago. They hit every position on my board including the nuances like slot, blocking and receiving TE, big CB. You gotta figure we're atop UDFA QB destination. Logan Woodside remains my guy and I like Kyle Allen way more as a UDFA than a pick as he's practice squad at best. Apollo Stallion
In another reminder that Rick Smith isn't here anymore, we actually managed to resist slow LSU backup RB Darrel Williams. Of course, I'd be ok with signing him as a UDFA as a Blue clone.
Apollo Stallion
Holton Hill and Desmond Harrison are logical priority FAs from UT. Both had drug issues that killed their draft value and I gotta think Hill has some serious red flag to drop from possible day 2 all the way out. Tony Brown is another talented CB, that would have gone early day 3 if not for character issues. I'm right there with Gaine on not burning picks on character concerns, but just bringing them to camp carries little risk. Jeff Holland could be brought in as another pass rushing LB/special teamer. Ryan Izzo and David Wells are blocking TE's I liked. You gotta think JT Barrett would jump to get a chance as UDFA here. Not draftable, but a redshirt year working on accuracy would be worth it with the other similarities with Deshaun.
Pastor Dillon
We’ve had injuries at QB every season we’ve had BOB. And he doesn’t seem to care about a back up QB
