Say it does happen and Bruce goes to Oakland. Anyone have any early candidates to replace him?

Kyle Smith. Dark Horse candidate for me . Currently the Director of College Personnel for us . He's the son of A J so a lifetime of being in, around the business. Been with the Redskins for 8 seasons and has steadily moved up through the ranks. Young, smart, energetic .

What? First of all, McKenzie does the work on the draft picks but Gruden is involved but McKenzie does the scouting work.

I think the raiders had a great draft. They need a future starting LT because of Penn’s age and they got one with Miller.

They got and interior DL in round 2 who fits their scheme perfectly in Hall.

They got an OL to develop in round 3 who has a lot of talent but needs development with Parker.

They got Arden Key and Nelson who both will be major contributors. Key is a steal in round 4 as long as he keeps his head on straight.

Maurice Hurst will be a starter or a 3rd down nickel pass rush specialist.

Victor and Ateman as their last two picks were extremely solid!

Victor was pegged as a mid round talent before his knee injury and he played a little out of shape last year because of it. Ateman is a big strong athletic WR, he’s not a speedster but out fights Dbs to catch a lot of 50/50 balls.

@turtle28 Turtle, you can always be counted on to bring the contrarian argument. Even though one of my basic principles is to follow the excellent advice of George Bernard Shaw, in this case I will ignore.

Oakland's draft was deemed in the lower bottom tier

NFL.com Grade: C

CBS Sports Grade: C

Pro Football Focus Grade: Average

Yahoo! Sports Grade: C-

Sports Illustrated Grade: C+

USA Today Grade: C+

Isn’t he more of a capologist than a scout?

Supposedly, Schaefer has gotten more involved in the football operations side of the house as well.

I have no interest in any more legacy hires/promotions.

A lot of their picks were high risk high reward.  With Gruden having a 10 year contract he had the ability to swing for the fences.

Way to keep an open mind ! :)

I'm not sure he'd be a full qualifier Legacy.. A J just did a little boot work for us .. scouting wise as I remember . Low echelon stuff .

Just saw this ..This train is pulling outta da station ..!!

Has nothing to do with keeping an open mind, but more for the fact the franchise would not do a honest-to-goodness personnel search to get the best fit for GM.

I would be okay with promoting Schaeffer internally, but I would prefer that we promoted him after determining him the best candidate for the job instead of just saying "well, he's here, let's just move him into place."

As he should. All for it.

Frankly, listening to Doug Williams explain the draft picks and their risk taking and chances. I didnt feel confident that he completely understood how to work the draft.

Shaffer would be a great GM/Person to oversee draft.

Those grades mean nothing. They definitely got 2 starters/May hot contributors and some depth.

While they don't mean much, they give a general sense of where evaluators ranked what the Raiders did with the picks they got.

It's why I asked for the snap poll on Saturday. For all we know, Geron Christian will turn out to be the best pick out of the 2018 draft class. Right now, however, that seems unlikely.

True, but how much of us truly knew a lot about him? I didn’t even know who he was, but then again I don’t watch a lot of ACC football anymore since UMD bolted for the Big10.

Every team has different rankings for all players and while the Raiders did address needs, they didn't address the value of the players they were selecting. Kolton Miller had been evaluated as a 1st round prospect, not a 1st round grade, but prospect, because, and this is the key point, the level of talent at the OT position was McGlinchey and everyone else.

Arden Key may be good but his abilities went down hill this past season.

P.J. Hill in the 2nd round? That was a huge reach. 4th or 5th rounder.

Some of their day 3 picks were ok. They just didnt address the needs with the value that was on the board.

Bleacher Report's Mike Freeman confirms the report, adding that the feeling is mutual. Per Florio, Allen would return to the Raiders in an executive-type role with no personnel decision-making, but a "significant role in managing the business." Allen is currently believed to be running the show with the Redskins alongside senior VP of player personnel Doug Williams. Allen leaving the Redskins could be viewed as a win for Washington. Allen and coach Jon Gruden have a relationship dating back to their previous Raiders days and again with the Bucs.

Please! Please! Please!!!!
