Trade: Detroit trades #3, and Jamal Agnew to Miami for #5, 39, 56, Josh Rosen 2021 5th.

Miami makes the trade to get the QB they want.

Detroit trades #85, 166 and 235 to Indy for Malik Hooker and 122.

Detroit goes all in on playmakers in the secondary.  Hooker allows us to play 3 safety sets with 3 player that are absolute ballhawks.  Indy trades up to grab a QB that slips (Eason, Fromm or Hurts)

Draft:

5.  Jeff Okudah, CB Ohio State – Lockdown CB.  Our Secondary now has depth and playmakers at all levels.

35. AJ Epenesa, DE/DL Iowa -There’s a realistic chance he slips.  AJ gives us the bookend to Flowers that can kick inside where he absolutely destroys guards with inside pressure.  Hand was a vital part of what made our Defense go.  Epenesa gives us superior version of Hand.  Plus if we kick both inside we have our own version of a “nascar” package.

39. Zack Baun, LB/EDGE Wisconsin – I think this is Baun’s range and a diluted sample at the combine helps to make sure he slips.  Baun can play off, jack, inside, outside.  He gives Patricia his KVN.  Baun reminds me of him so much I think it will be easy for the lions to know how to use him.  Plus they know him from the Senior Bowl.

56. Clyde Edwards-Helaire – I’m not sure if he makes it this far but in this mock he’s the one out of the big 4 RBs (Dobbins, Taylor, CEH, Swift) to fall.  There’s an argument that he’s the top rated RB in the draft too.  CEH has elite route running from the RB position, excellent contact balance.  Gives us a well rounded RB stable and will start day one.

67. Tee Higgins – With the depth at WR I think a couple are going to slip.  In this mock Higgins is the one to slip.  He’s basically another Golladay type WR but the value is too good to pass up and we grab him.  Allows us to potentially move Jones at the trade deadline or at the very least have his replacement for next year.

109. Tyler Biadasz IOL– Had a slightly down year but he will compete for the RG spot (might even compete with Dahl for the LG spot) and will add depth at LG, RG, and C.

122. Lynn Bowden, WR Kentucky – Bowden will slot in as our return man day one and will be our starting slot WR next year.  I expect Bevell to scheme up some plays to get him on the field this year.

149. Braden Mann,  P Texas A&M – We get our Punter and add a starter/special  teams weapon with a 5th round pick.  He also has experience as a kick off specialist.

182. Trey Adams, OT Washington – A litany of injuries probably make him go undrafted but Lions decided to take a swing on a player in the 6th who can be their number 4 tackle.  They feel they now have depth in the OT room to go into the season.

UDFA:

Glen Logan, DT LSU- Upside DT.

Carter Coughlin, EDGE MN – special teamer.  Hustle player with practice squad potential.

Kindle Vildor, CB Georgia Southern -Practice squad player

Jacob Breeland, TE Oregon - Practice Squad player who can change Nauta.

Looking at the depth chart I don't see a glaring weakness.  We still don't have an elite pass rush but I think we have a pretty good one and the players that can be schemed up to produce.  I think our secondary is improved immensely which should help us win the turnover battle.

There it is gang what's your thoughts?
