grizmo78
At Washington he was an amazing DB coach. He consistently look 3-4* corners and turned them into quality NFL players. (Budda Baker, McDuffie, Kyler Gordon, Taylor Rapp, Byron Murphy, Elijah Molden, etc.) As a DC he was extremely focused on the secondary and had a great pass defense but it was at the cost of the run defense. Perfect example of that is the 2021 Washington vs Michigan game where Michigan was held to 44 passing yards the whole game... Huskies lost by 21 points by giving up 343 rushing yards. As HC, its noted how much of an ego he built up, got suspended for punching HIS OWN PLAYER in the face mask and was fired before his first season was over. Given he's a DC under a defensive minded HC, in theory it should insulate his weaknesses. Morris' background is with the secondary too so for the sake of diversity I would have thought going with a front 7 (D-line/linebackers) DC could have been a better set up. Overall, id say this isn't a great hire but isn't a bad hire. I would have leaned on saying good if Lake was thought of being a better person/leader.
NVRamsFan
A very good DB coa h and so.ebody he brought yo the Rams this year to help with our young secondary. Think Rah is putting together a good group of coordinators.
