John Jerry Angrily Signs Restructured Contract

Hedge bet by the Giants making it easy to cut the guy if he's not one of their top 3 guards.

I suspect this offer was "take it, or get cut". Jerry either loves New York, or figures there's not much of a market for a 345-lb. guard who cannot run block.

Jerry has performed as an average pass blocker but one of the worst run-blockers starting at the guard position. New general manager Dave Gettleman has no ties at all to Jerry, as the Giants didn't draft him and Gettleman was with the Panthers when they signed him. In all likelihood, the Giants will keep Jerry on the roster for one final season, but they can save $500,000 in cap space and salary by designating Jerry a weekly inactive on game day.  Overall, the Giants have decided to take on the rest of Jerry's dead salary cap hit that has carried over from the contract Reese signed him to during the 2018 season so they can get the veteran guard off their books entirely for the 2019 season.

"Dey pays me HOW much??"
