  1. You are assuming that Payton wanted him out, which may be true, however, it could have also been the other way around. In German we have a saying: Reisende sollte man nicht aufhalten. Loosely translated: Travelers should not be stopped (on their journey). Evero might have first emotionally moved on in the moment Hackett got fired, see his refusal to become interim HC, and at the very latest when he did not get selected to become the new HC. He was by far everyone's preferred option as DC yet this now might be an inevitable fresh start for everyone.
  2. Broncos ade negotiating to get Vic back as DC per Dave Logan / MHR. Wild.
  3. Ever since the contract was given to Wilson, the vision was limited to doing whatever is possible to get most out of him. We can lament the overall rudderlessness of the franchise post PFM yet except for Harbaugh there would not have been a better move to get comfortable in the corner Paton boxed the franchise in.
  4. I mean, George spent a lot on Wilson both in draft currency and dollars. He could not have been too shocked.
  5. In essence: Ryans Harbaugh Payton … was the Waltons' ranking.
  6. If not for the back and forth, Ryans could have actually been ours, it seems.
  7. If for nothing else than the sheer contract, the goal is to revitalize Wilson, is it not? Aside from Harbaugh, my first choice, who would have had a more realistic shot at that than Payton? Hate the fact that we had to sacrifice draft capital yet from the eventual candidate list, Payton was and still is one of the top choice. Bittersweetly happy about it!
  8. Is there a non-Harbaugh face-saving candidate out there? I would say no.
  9. It does not seem right to me too yet here we are- seemingly. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Harbaugh seems to be the unlikeliest likeliest candidate out of the bunch left. That or in fact new candidates yet to be interviewed, something which has been denied by traditional Broncos PR journalist Mike Klis:
  10. As of yesterday, they officially were turned down by the Broncos. Along with Shaw. On top of that, allegedly the original list of candidates won't be expanded. So, logically it's either going to be Harbaugh or Ryans or Payton. Which seems ridiculous to spell out after the last three weeks of search.
  11. The whole Harbaugh situation is difficult to grasp. Even today with the reports coming out that Penner had a second secret meeting with him in Ann Arbor, some say in light of that meeting that he would come back to the NFL for us while some mention that Denver would be one (!) team he could potentially come back for. Harbaugh was my first choice from the get-go but his politicking and/or indecisiveness is off-putting.
