onejayhawk
Wire is doing a series of reviews of the rookies. These are the UDFA. The drafted rookies will come later. https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/lists/kansas-city-chiefs-tershawn-wharton-rookie-season-review-future-outlook/https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/lists/kansas-city-chiefs-punter-tommy-townsend-rookie-season-review-future-outlook/https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/lists/kansas-city-chiefs-guard-yasir-durant-rookie-season-review-future-outlook/ This is easily the best UDFA crop in the NFL and there are others not listed. Townsend took over for Colquitt without a bump, Wharton played almost 50% of the snaps, giving the team another penetrating DT beside Chris Jones. Durant started the final game at RG and performed well. He may mean we do not need to draft an OG this year. J
onejayhawk
THe last pick of the draft--BoPete Keyes. No even his mother calls him Thakariushttps://chiefswire.usatoday.com/lists/kansas-city-chiefs-cb-bopete-keyes-rookie-season-review-future-outlook/ BoPete played some ST and occasionally a real down, plus game #17. His season began badly, with a non-football break to his eye socket. Still, he hand chances to force more playing time and did not manage to do so. With Bashaud Breeland likely moving on, Keyes may fill Rashad Fenton's role as CB4, but reviews of his first season are mixed. J
onejayhawk
Next up is Mike Danna, who was a steal in the 5th round. While there are size and strength concerns, Danna did extremely well for a rookie. He's explosive as a pass rusher and not a liability against the run. A good sign looking forward is that Danna immediately impressed with his work ethic and field smarts. https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/lists/kansas-city-chiefs-de-mike-danna-rookie-season-review-future-outlook/ J
onejayhawk
Next up is L'Jarius Sneed, probably the steal of the whole draft. Realistically, he should have gone in the 1st round, possibly the top half of the first round. By far the biggest impact rookie CB in 2020, arguably the biggest impact in a decade. he's the reason CB is not a need position in the coming draft, even though Bashaud Breeland is a free agent.https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/lists/kansas-city-chiefs-corner-ljarius-sneed-rookie-season-review-future-outlook/ One thing you love is the versatility. Sneed can play outside or in the slot, relieving Tyrann Mathieu of that responsibility. Another factor is the physicality. Sneed's time as a safety shows in his tackling and particularly his blitzing. it would not be at all surprising to see Pro-Bowls in the near future. onejayhawk
Skipping over Lucas Niang, who opted out of the season, we get to Willie Gay, who did not have a good rookie year. https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/lists/kansas-city-chiefs-willie-gay-rookie-season-review-future-outlook/ Gay had a season ending injury, but should be 100% by camp. Mini-camp, not so much. He has a ton of physical tools, but never produced. J
