Skyy even returned a KO. Butker did not practice. The game is Thursday. Will we have a S doubling as K? Maybe just on KO.
onejayhawk
The bad--a rehash of the many mistakes that ST made against the Colts. If you play a lot of new people, this is one of the downsides.https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2022/9/30/23379714/chiefs-colts-dave-toub-takes-responsibility-for-sundays-special-teams-disaster Then there is the good. Tommy Townsend is having a fantastic year so far. They recognized it with the PotM award.https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2022/9/30/23379992/tommy-townsend-named-afc-special-teams-player-month-chiefs
onejayhawk
We knew in August that there would be issues with special teams. There was too much personnel turnover to avoid it. This article gives a thorough breakdown of each ST unit, noting where things have improved significantly from September into October--and where it hasn't. It should also be noted that recently acquired WR Kadarius Toney has college experience returning both punts and KOs.https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/lists/kansas-city-chiefs-special-teams-review-bye-week-2022-nfl-season/
onejayhawk
Here is a film review of the ST, noting both good and bad. FBO ranks the ST unit as middle of the league. One note of interest is that Nazeeh Johnson has come on in the last few weeks. He is the last of the drafted rookies to make the 53 and looks to have a future on ST. https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/lists/kansas-city-chiefs-special-teams-review-week-16-2022-nfl-season/
onejayhawk
Here's an article on the rookies and their impact on ST. If you want to know what happened to Leo Chenal look no further.
