cannondale
I remember some years ago a topic was made talking about arrow up, arrow down, and arrow level with regard to the roster talent. At that time, the concern was that there weren't enough players on the roster with the arrow up. In 2022 we have a season that will probably hinge upon numerous guys with an arrow pointing up making strides that can make a huge difference by the end of the next 90 days. Doubs, Watson, Tom: Rookie offensive guys Walker, Wyatt, Engabare: Rookie defensive guys Watkins, Tonyan, Myers, Runyan, Newman, Tom: Veteran offensive guys Stokes, Slaton, Reed: Veteran defensive guys That's a ton of guys who can get better via different ways (experience, familiarity, maturity, etc etc that can make this team better by December. Whether or not it will happen, and how many guys it will happen for is the question. First time in a long time that this roster has had this much chance for growth in a short period of time.
MacReady
It’s not gonna happen this year. Not without Gute trading a third, second or first round pick to get one more piece. Or some miracle in-season cut and sign.

I think we can see some major jumps in performance. The usual caveat of health applies but we saw some of our potential if our preferred Oline can get together and play at their best. Still need to get that on track. The rooks will take time but if others can keep the standards up, they will find ways to contribute. Stokes lastrear was a great example of this. Next week on the road vs a stout defense will tell us a bit more but I’m still optimistic this O, D and “Wefense” can take some big steps. Also, guys like Campbell, Douglas and Deguara essentially only have one year playing for us. They can still bring up their level of play even if it’s not a giant step.
