Although not a need, Jones will compete for a backup job, apply pressure on the Trevor Lawrence negotiating team to not be crazy, and provide trade bait if a league quarterback goes down in training camp or pre-season. Zaps sign Saquon Barkley rb Phil 3/37.75m. This establishes a bell cow rb on a contract that can be escaped after 2 years. Team observers expect the Zaps to draft a running back by round 3, but this move means the team does not have to rely on striking gold in the draft on year 1. Zaps sign Jeremy Chinn s Was 1/4.105m. Replaces CJGJ whom the Zaps did not re-sign. Zaps have Branch to do CJGJ stuff and want Chinn to do what Chinn did before last season in a friendlier scheme for him. Zaps sign Willie Gay lb NO 1/5m after Wagner said "No" to the team. Will provide insurance for Ivan Pace's continued development while adding a good athlete to the field. The elephant in the room is when and how Trevor Lawrence handles his next contract. But I am assuming his 2024 contract will salary cap as written and the Zaps will pick up his 5th year option. Zaps cut Bradley Bozeman c. There is some dead money on this more, a little less than his contract. Great guy. Great, great guy. Can still run block, but lost some on his pass pro. More and more I believe in Shopping Lists. It is a team-build, not a beauty pagent. Yeah, I can tell you that a steak is better than cafeteria mystery meat, but I cannot tell you which are the Top 5 steaks in order, the Top 5 Seafood in order, and blend those two lists in a Tonight's Dinner Big Board. And when I go shopping for a big meal I might get a can of sardines which will not make my Top 100 foods in any universe, but it could combine with other ingredients to give something that was missing and turn a very good meal to a great meal, in the hands of a talented chef (coach). Enough analogy. On with football. So I will not give you my Big Board for the 2024 draft, and I will not bother listing people I fully expect to be gone before I pick or I expect the League has a higher grade than I do, or people who are good but just not for my team, or people who just suck. Instead, I will give positional shopping lists. And the rank order can change based on who I select in earlier rounds, even in subtle ways like a 1st round OLM can change my 3rd round RB.
