Carlton Davis and DJ ReaderĀ

I'm not really sure what Davis will bring yet, it could be anything on the spectrum. He might be terrible, he might be great. He'll at least play up to Sutton's level and we'll have a vastly improved secondary regardless of what he does. We had practice squad guys as our other perimeter CBs. Vilmore etc. (You might remember Vilmore from covering Atwell on his long TD in the Wildcard round or from having a ball go off his face directly into Aiyuk's hands for a long TD in the NFC championship game) The addition of Rakestraw and Arnold are huge even if neither of them becomes a superstar. Emmanuel Moseley will be back from an ACL after missing all of 2023.

CJGJ was never a fit in Detroit. He's a moron and caused us nothing but problems. Cam Sutton would have been nice depth but will never play another down in the NFL. He wouldn't have been a starter for Detroit in 2024 anyway.

Reader next to McNeil is going to be nasty.

Hutch already gets the superstar treatment. He gets held on almost every down. We also signed Marcus Davenport. He's really decent when healthy.

Detroit didn't lose anyone of much importance on defense. The biggest loss was probably either Josh Reynolds or Jonah Jackson... both offensive players and neither of them are anything to really point at.

We don't have great linebackers right now but we also didn't in 2023. Here's hoping Jack Campbell really steps up his game in year 2.

The Lions have a vastly improved secondary and a much better defensive line than last year. The linebackers are the same.
