I'd like to continue using the one I used on the old forum, but it's getting cut off and most of the other pictures I could use would get cut off too. The last forum was kind of a mess with different sized avatars and we wasted way too much time dealing with sigs and avatars that were outside the guidelines. This forum will force all avatars and sigs to be the correct size. Beta members figured out the best way to make avatars fit with in the circle guidelines. Technically it's possible to have a square avatar, but you'll have to use some trickery, if it's that important to have it square. What you would need is to use a square picture with a white background and crop it so it fits in the circle avatar. The white background blends into the mostly white website and it gives the appearance that it's square and not circle. Obviously there will be imperfections, such as the avatar being necessarily smaller so the corners of the square image fit within the circle cookie-cutter. Also the white background will appear anywhere there isn't a similar white finish to the website. A lot of work with some drawbacks but if you really wanted a square avatar it isn't impossible.
