The tag needs to be redone.The 2 1sts a team has to surrender when signing a tendered player pretty much ends that possibility. I think the restricted FA model works better in that the current team can match an offer. If they don't want a team losing a player for nothing, they can award them a compensatory pick outside of the normal compensatory calculations. That way the parent team can keep the player if he's really that important, the player maximizes his value by shopping for the best deals, and the team gets some compensation for allowing a player to walk without it penalizing the acquiring team.
