dll2000
Author really emphasizes Nichols first step. I think it's more about quickness plus size plus power plus technique plus situational awareness of where to attack vis a vie the guard or center depending. For example if you watch Bullard, especially his college tape, his first step is much faster than Nichols in a vaccuum, but he doesn't get same results as Nichols. Remember Hicks took Nichols under his wing last year and Nichols took to it. If you watch the video and watch the Hicks game pass video you can see Nichols aping Hicks moves more and more as season goes and getting better. Excited to see this guy move forward, hopefully he keeps working with Hicks.
soulman
Great piece brother. Personally I think we lucked into a terrific prospect in the 5th round and even more so because he's acknowledged what he needed to do in the offseason in order to shore up his weaknesses. If he can progress again throughout camp and preseason he should become a more complete DL in 2019 but even now he gives us one more DL who can penetrate and rush the passer.
