I don't remember anybody in 2013 saying Brady was done. Wasn't even a discussion. Brady's supporting cast was trash that year IIRC. They had Dobson and Kenbrell Thompkins as their outside WRs.

i don't know if Ben is done but you used an unbalanced example

Oh yeah, there was...I'll do some digging and see what I can find, but there were definitely threads about Brady being 'done'.

And interspersed within this thread, you see A LOT of posts regarding how poorly Brady was playing, while others, like mentioned, defended his play based upon his supporting class.

I'm not trying to say it was an exact comparison, just that these same questions were brought up then about Brady, regardless of his WR situation...and my BIGGEST point, is that after just ONE bad game, and a mention of 'retirement', all of a sudden, Ben is 'done'...oh, that and the fact that he hasn't started with multiple 300 yd games.

Also, my point, is 'haters' of particular 'teams' jump all over stuff like this, yet when said player rebounds, as Ben did...crickets; until he has another bad game...and he will...and it will all come out again...hilarious.

I think Rivers can still be a great QB.

Eli can still be an average QB.

Ben is the one I wonder about, if only because of his commitment concerns. There's really no way to know what's going on in his mind though. I'd say if his mind is in it, he can/will still be a great QB.

Wouldn't stick a fork in any of them.

People have been saying Brady's done since 2009. Wishful thinking, more than anything tangible. Still putting up NFL leading numbers

As for Ben, I think it's more HOW he's playing rather than the bad game. He's missing targets quite badly at times, even during wins. The game against KC wasn't exactly a Big Ben masterclass. Pretty modest game, and stats are bumped by that Gaines F-up to send Brown in. Bell and the OL was your offense. Not saying he's done, just that he looks....different.
