Heimdallr
Has anyone else watched this documentary series? One of the better things I've ever watched. I'm a 60s/70s music nerd so it was totally my jam, but they did such a good job putting the transition from the 60s to 70s into context and highlighting the sociopolitical events that caused such a creative explosion and stylistic transition. Looking at all the music that came out of that one year.... just wow. Tapestry, Who's Next, Hunky Dory, Led Zeppelin 4, Blue, Sticky Fingers, What's Going On, Just As I Am, Jesus Christ Superstar, Imagine, Electric Warrior, Gets Next To You, Roots, There's A Riot Going On, Maggot Brain, Aqualung, Meddle, LA Woman, Master of Reality, and not to mention all the singles.... Just amazing. It is also incredible how quickly everything switched from the Woodstock peace/love culture of the late 60s to the tension of the 70s in just 2 years. That's because a lot of the peace and love hippies moved on from weed and LSD to cocaine and heroin and **** got ****ed up fast. "Peace" movements started getting militant and angry.
