Packers Christopher Allen LB/Edge Alabama OVERALL RATING:71.0 / 100GAME PERFORMANCE WEIGHTED RATINGTACKLING: 68%PASS RUSH: 89%RUN DEFENSE: 60%COVERAGE: 64% Strengths Excellent in coverage. Stays with tight ends and receivers in the slot with very good straight-line speed and change-of-direction ability for his size. Handles misdirection well with quick change-of-direction ability. Comes downhill quickly against the run when he has an open lane. Has the combination of size and athleticism worthy of development. Quick to read run, showing good agility and speed to get past blockers and finish. Experienced in coverage and gets a strong jam on outside receivers. Thickly built with classic linebacker size, adequate strength and the smarts to cover up his athletic shortcomings in the right scheme. Weaknesses Lacks elite quickness and change-of-direction ability to handle NFL slot receivers after initial contact. Plays upright. Ducks his head and fails to wrap up at times. Inconsistent in giving full effort to be the second man in on the play. Must learn to use hands to beat blocks. Hits up high and misses more tackles than he should. Locates the ball but takes circuitous routes to go get to it. Should use power and long arms to take on and disengage from blocks. Inefficient with his angles. His lateral agility and burst often put him in position to make big plays, but he takes questionable routes to the ball and struggles to avoid blockers when in pursuit. #228. Packers Smoke Monday S Auburn OVERALL RATING: 72.0 / 100 GAME PERFORMANCE WEIGHTED RATING TACKLING: 71% RUN DEFENSE: 75% COVERAGE: 81% ZONE: 78% MAN/PRESS: 81% Strengths Tough and scrappy with forceful nature to be physical at all levels of the field. Has good bulk on his frame to be aggressive in run support. A coordinated athlete with good footwork and balance. A heady cover player with above-average · feel and anticipation in space. Transitions well from coverage to close on the ball. Strong hands, quick reactions for the interceptions. Trusts his eyes with very good awareness. Has very good reaction skills to break quickly on the ball. Good hustle player who puts himself in the action when he's not directly involved. Knows how to use his height and vertical leap. Weaknesses Will slip off tackles and needs to finish more consistently. Has tense ankles and hips with choppy footwork when attempting to redirect and doesn't always look natural changing directions. Needs to improve his footwork and balance in coverage. Transitions out of his backpedal too early and doesn't look natural moving in reverse. Lowers his shoulder for the big hit rather than wrapping up securely. Needs to get stronger. Too easily lost in the trash. Not a sudden athlete and shows body stiffness when attempting to quickly redirect. #255. Packers Joey Porter Jr. CB Penn St. OVERALL RATING: 70.0 / 100 GAME PERFORMANCE WEIGHTED RATING TACKLING: 78% RUN DEFENSE: 64% COVERAGE: 71% ZONE: 69% MAN/PRESS: 67% Strengths Quicker than he is fast but has a burst to close in zone coverage and plays physical at the line in man. Has good ball skills to locate and attack the ball in the air. Attacks the ball with authority, with quick read-and-react ability. Willing and physical tackler, flashes toughness and aggressive nature vs. the run. Extremely aggressive to come up and put his body in traffic to make tackles. A coordinated athlete with good footwork and balance. A heady cover player with above-average · feel and anticipation in space. Trusts his eyes with very good awareness. Has very good reaction skills to break quickly on the ball. Savvy cover skills to recognize and anticipate routes. Understands what's coming and has good ball skills. Weaknesses Lacks elite speed to recover if beaten on double move. Ducks his head and swipes too often on open-field tackles. Questionable technique and he gets lazy with fundamentals, sometimes getting high in his backpedal and will breach the coverage call seeking flashy plays Has a high backpedal and loses a step in transition. Plays with adequate speed but there are concerns about his ability to handle the truly explosive speedsters of the NFL. Refugee
Props for Smoke Monday. I know nothing about his game but saw him on a list of prospects (ranked a lot higher than you grabbed him) and immediately knew he would be on my team if I were a GM. I usually assemble an all name team with a friend of mine every draft.
