bcb1213
Team Luikic Offense: Our offense will primarily run through two dynamic playmakers in Deebo Samuel and Nick Chubb. We'll look to base our offense around the zone system used by Kyle Shanahan in San Francisco, with Garoppolo having shown he can have success managing an offense, and Chubb should be able to flourish in as a great one-cut down-hill runner. We'll also use Samuel as a swiss-army knife, moving him around from receiver into the backfield and constantly getting him in motion and the ball in his hands one way or another. Chase Edmonds will see a number of snaps on 3rd down and be used as a receiver out of the backfield as the perfect complement to Chubb. If extra focus is given to the running game and Samuel, we know that Goedert, Claypool and Pittman are all able to take advantage of most defenders and the plan will be for Jimmy again to get the ball into their hands and let them do the work. All three are exceptional after the catch and good enough deeper down field to ensure that defenses can't just leave everything in front of them. tl;dr - Running game and short passing game with a focus on YAC. Jimmy G to manage a Shanahan/49ers style offense, keep our Time of Possession high. We can win explosively with big after catch plays or grind results out with consistent gains. Defense: We'll rotate up front a fair bit with our dominant defensive line, ensuring each of them are kept fresh throughout the game. On early downs we'll have Armstead kick out to DE and have Brockers rotate in to DT frequently, while on 3rd downs we'll look to kick Clowney or Mack inside and have Frank Clark come in on the edge. At the next level, we'll let Kendricks and now hopefully health Murray do it all from blitzing, run support and coverage. In particular we'll look to have Kendricks take the better receiver out of the opponent's TE and RB, while Murray will take the lesser. In the secondary, Ramsey will be tasked with shutting down WR1s, or in some cases the WR2 if they're also a great threat. If Ramsey is on the WR1, we'll have Darby take the WR2 and Rock Ya-Sin in the slot. If Ramsey is on the no.2 WR, we'll have Rock take the no.1 WR with safety help over the top and Darby will take the slot/WR3. Thornhill will generally act as our deep safety, while Amos will be utilised as our strong safety and generally operate closer to the LOS in cover 1 situations, or deeper in cover 2 type formations. tl;dr - Get after them with a loaded pass-rush which is kept fresh through rotating, trust the guys in our secondary and especially Ramsey to do their job in man coverage and slow down opposing offenses. jonnguy2015
All pretty solid teams, but I'll be a homer and predict Forge to win off a breakout first year starting from Lance. A hopefully healthy CMC and Justin Jefferson certainly help. Edited May 16, 2022 by jonnguy2015
