It was the right call... and honestly he gets skewered either way. I understand now Gano is hurt but he was absolutely booming kickoffs. It was a 37 yd FG to put us up 6 pts. The chances of the Jets driving the field and scoring a TD was miniscule. If he sends SB out there and he gets stuffed you are in the same position +12 yards and we're criticizing Daboll for not trusting his elite kicker to kick essentially an extra point. Gano still being active and not on IR means he believed he could still perform at full expectations and convinced the coaching staff. Criticize Daboll for not putting Gano on IR and signing another kicker.. fair game. But attempting the FG there was the right call....
