Gotham

Offense:
We have yet to face any team that can defend our spread attack, and we will continue with it this week and every single week. We will not be putting tight ends on the field at all. 4th and goal at the 1 we are spreading team’s out and using our superior talent to gain the advantage at all levels. Positional flexibility be damned we prefer power over modality.
We will utilize shotgun formation and quick passes to neutralize all pass rush as has been proven in BDL’s past. If Rob Havenstein can handle prime Von Miller 1v1, then our tackles will handle all edge rushers in current BDL.
We’ll run the ball because we can. We’ll stay balanced despite what our formation says because spread offenses create light boxes for our talented runner to run.

Defense:
We will once again utilize our superior talent to win in the secondary. Similar to our offensive success, no team has yet been able to field a receiving group capable of beating our talented corners. We will take advantage of this by utilizing heavy man coverage.
We will blitz with our front seven. As shown by previous BDL games, this is the way to generate pressure as even Rob Havenstein can take Von Miller 1v1, but he can’t block two men at the same time. We will overload whomever is on whatever offensive line we face and our far superior secondary talent will keep the pass catchers from receiving their passes.
The run game is secondary and has no bearing on the winning or losing of a football game. We will have a much higher YPA than our opponents every game and thus we will be favored. We are going to score early and often and therefore the only good use of the run game, to salt away the game, will be a completely non existent scenario for all of our opponents as they will never lead in the 4th.

Offense

Get the ball to our skill position players. We can keep Lawrence upright against this pass rush. Move Puka and Zay interchangeably in the slot and the boundary. We want to run many combo routes between the two and let Lawrence find the open guy. We will move Calvin Ridley across the line of scrimmage and let him run routes with a head start against Sauce. Ridley should have a handful of routes where he’s the decoy as we’ll bunch the 3 WRs together. Expect Mims to get some time in the game as a home run hitter and we’ll use Zay Flowers on some screens or reverse plays.

The run game is pretty straight forward. It’s mostly Etienne backfield but Charbonnet continues his ascension toward getting on the field. Perine also serves as the 3rd down back.

Defense

Dak presents a tough matchup with an elite group of weapons around him. We can get to him with just 4, so we will avoid blitzing. We want to keep safety help directly on top of Tyreek at all times. We are comfortable letting Bijan get his carries at that expense.

Bracket coverage with a full zone coverage assignment today. Tyreek’s man will play off and we’ll throw some more variance with on/off coverage on the other weapons. James will be used as a star on occasion and come into the box, replacing an LB. This allows Vonn Bell to play deep.
