College Football 25 Dynasty - Kent State Golden Flashes

Recommended Posts

Year 3 Schedule
Week Location Opponent
1 home Akron
2 @ Charlotte (22)
3 home Ohio St (4)
4 home Oregon (3)
5 @ Indiana
6 home Rutgers
7 @ San Jose St
8   BYE
9 @ Wisconsin
10 home Washington
11 home Toledo
12 @ Michigan St
13 @ Maryland
14   Army-Navy Week
15   Conference Champs.

I start off with a local Ohio rival followed by 3 ranked opponents. The back end looks a little easier but they're all Big 10 opponents. If I can pull off a win over either Ohio St or Oregon I might make some serious noise this year.

Preseason Recruiting - Year 3

r27kNx3.png

- Jumping up to a 3 star program should really help recruiting.

- Other improvements, Stadium Atmosphere went from a D to a D+. I guess that's from winning more games.

- Pro Potential went from a D to a B. I only had 1 player drafted so far so that jump seems a bit high.

- Brand Exposure went from a C to C+, I guess that's from playing higher profile games on TV more often.

- Coach Prestige went from B+ to A-. Again, probably just from winning games.

- Athletic Facilities went from D- to a D. Kind of surprising that changed. Maybe it has to do with what Star rating my program is.

- Program Tradition, Campus Lifestyle, Academic Prestige & Coach Stability all stayed the same. Most of those aren't surprising except for Coach Stability, maybe I have to earn a second contract first.

- I should have my starting QB locked in for 4 years with Turbin. I have a serviceable backup in QB Sherrod for now (he's a Junior) but I didn't recruit him and it couldn't hurt to groom a decent backup. The QB I recruited last year, Zach Etienne, I don't expect to ever develop into a player I can put on the field (he only has 87 throw power). Grabbing a QB this year would be nice but isn't a priority.

-  I grabbed two HBs with Impact Dev trait last year in Miree and Payne. Both are smaller speedy type backs though so I'd like to add a power back with size to compliment them.

- I have a FB currently on the roster but if a good looking blocking one is available I may add another to groom.

- WR McCray is graduating after this year but I grabbed high end recruits last year in Hape and Lincoln. Transfer Queen wil also have another season after this one on the roster. But, WR is a position where I need to be grabbing recruits every year because so many are required on the depth chart. I'm really looking to add quality here this year, another high end talent could really help my offense.

- TE really isn't a need at all this year after nabbing some in back to back recruiting cycles. If a one is available for cheap then sure but I won't spend a lot of resources on one.

- I have legitimate long term starting options at LT and RT after bringing in Freshman LT Windt and RT Weir last year. Both could start for a long time, but landing a high end swing backup or someone who could even push Windt for his starting spot wouldn't be a bad idea. Never hurts to grab more Oline.

- I'm hoping LG Kozlowski takes that starting job and runs with it this year, if so I'll have that locked up for 4 years. My starter at RG is graduating after this year, I have an in house obvious replacement in RG Williams but I didn't recruit him and I'd like to groom someone for that myself. McQueen who I recruited last year I see as a long term backup due to his low Strength rating (80).

- My starter OC Page is graduating but Leonhardt should be able to take that over next year. Someone to start grooming behind him wouldn't hurt.

- I need to add a star pass rusher somewhere to the roster. I don't care if that's at the 3-4 DE spot or at OLB, but I need someone who can get to the QB. Transfer DE Wesley Williams only has 1 season with me so one of my starters will be graduating. Freshman DE Ajayi is Redshirting and could take his spot next year. I'm trying DT Duff at the other DE spot this year, if that doesn't work I could use another option for that spot next year. DE Griffin, who I recruited my first season, really doesn't have starting talent with only 67 SPD.

- DT isn't an immediate need but if Duff ends up mostly playing DE I could use a backup NT behind Shields.

- Starting LOLB Esera is graduating after this year and I don't really have another pass rusher to take his spot. Replacing him with a high end talent is probably my #1 recruiting need this year. I'm hoping Jordan Gallon can lock down the ROLB for many year. I honestly don't have a lot of depth behind those guys either so grabbing a bunch of pass rushing OLBs wouldn't be a bad idea.

- I like Hess but he's still only 72 OVR and with a 3-4 defense I now need 2 MLBs on the field at a time. I'm using LOLB Jayden Studio in that role this year but he's a Junior and also pretty mediocre. Landing some stud MLBs would really help my defense.

- A top end CB is still a need. I've just been grabbing any CBs I could get the past 2 years because it was such a huge need, but I'm going to be a little pickier this year. Like the WR position you pretty much need to be recruiting a CB every season just to fill out the roster.

- Adding some top end Safety talent to the roster could really help my Secondary. I've been primarily utilizing the guys already on the roster here because I had so many other needs but an upgrade at both Safety spots would be great.

Year 3 - Week 1

U2yz9HR.png

I beat down Akron with my new lineup. QB Turbins debut had 387 passing yards, 5 TDs, and 0 INTs, to go with 44 rushing yards and a rushing TD. He was dominant. Freshman HB Miree added 90 yards on 15 carries and a TD. WR McCray pretty much destroyed them for 245 yards and 3 TDs. Freshman WR Hape added 93 yards and a TD out of the slot. On defense, MLB Hess was the lead tackler with 11, he added a TKL and an INT. CB Joel Boamah was the player of the game with 2 INTs that both went for pick 6s though. I didn't get a lot of pressure though, no sacks.

Year 3 - Week 2

Frustrating loss. I was super rusty after not playing the game for a few weeks. I threw 3 INTs in my own endzone that effectively took 21 points off of the board. Charlotte played well though. Their defense is tough and I had a hard time stopping their running game (their RB had 140 yards on the ground). I had an awful game passing, no one seemed open. Turbin only threw for 106 with 1 TD and 3 INTs. He added 41 yards on the ground but it wasn't enough. HB Miree was more effective with 109 yards but didn't score. They really blanked WR McCray he only had 4 receptions for 29 yards, although I feel like I did a bad job of getting him the ball. TE Muamba was the leading receiver with 3 receptions for 59 yards and 1 TD. My defense struggled too. OLB Jayden Studio had my only sack of the game and my team in general struggled to get pressure. I caused no turnovers. I really lack playmakers on defense. Tough loss, time to move on.
