Fellow Pats fans: the line has been bad, particularly in pass protection.

Has it been as bad as you were expecting, thus far? Or has Brissett just been dressing it up nicely moving around in the pocket?

Not as bad as I was expecting. It’s obviously bad but it’s already better than what Mac had, I’d say. Maybe it’s because JB can extend a bit.

I thought PFF were harsh ranking our line 32nd going into this week

Frustrating loss. The pass protection was brutal, but the blocked kick was what lost it.

Yep. Ultimately this offense (with JB) isn’t one that’s going to win many games when the turnover differential is close/slated against NE or when the team is pressed into going into pure pass situations. Giving up blocked kicks on STs is a recipe for disaster.

The first drive of OT, the end of the 4th Q, and the end of the half are examples of that…no legitimate threat of quickly moving the chains in the air.

I think the Hawks will be a good team this season. They have a lot of talent actually. All their receivers, both their corners, their LT, the IDL. They have important positions covered well.

our secondary is really good. Their receivers racked it up against it.

I picked Seattle to beat out LAR for the WC spot in the NFCW (SF winning). Still feel confident in that, although we got a break today that there was no Kenneth Walker.

JSN ate it up today, but miscommunication on the DK TD, then obviously the blocked kick, and, IMO, some soft play calling at the end of the halves. Not gonna get it done against most good teams, but we knew that coming in. The fumble recoveries vs Cincy weren’t going to be happening every week.

Too many soft zone coverages in this game. Gonzo and JJ are both at their best when manned up, so I don't really get that.

Plus side, Gonzo looked strong overall, miscommunication aside. I still like what I’ve been seeing from Marcus and Jon Jones. Hawkins looks active. Peppers and Dugger are themselves. Keion White’s a monster, and the run defense is absolutely there (against two weaker run teams, tbf). Defensively, Marco Wilson has been a problem with penalties, and I think Uche needs to show up more aside from just the occasional pressure.

Broadcast was saying saying they were getting stuck because of Seattle’s hurry-up. Don’t know if Vilma was on the money for that, would need to see film later in the week.

I think their better than I thought helped by the new OC.  Calls most of the plays on the right side.   Pass protection is a problem however I don't know if it Briskett or the AC refusal to look at the WRs.

Also it tough to impossible to play offense with 10 players.  Thornton is a complete disaster.  Spread the field, my ears !!!!!

That's fan and team speak to justify a complete draft bust.

I said it before and I will say it again.  What loser team will draft this stiff based on  his 4.2 track speed >>>>>>>>>>  BIG EYES  peed off !!!!

Are we still waiting for Uche to break out?

In what sense? He's been solid the first two weeks. He had 11.5 sacks a couple of years ago. I'd say we know what he is at this point (solid rotational pass rusher).

Breakout, no. But for a guy who’s coming in as a pure pass rush specialist, I’d like to see him generate a little more chaos than he has been. It should get easier as White begins commanding more attention (man, I miss Barmore…)
