Deadpulse
Individuals Our MVP Rob Gronkowski - Tom is the obvious pick here but without Edelman, Gronk is too integral to making the offense go on 3rd down Newcomer of the season Rex Burkhead - Cooks underwhelmed IMO despite playing well, Burkhead exceeded expectations OPOY Tom Brady DPOY Devin McCourty Coach of the year Matt Patricia - how is this defense even functional? TomRalph
Individuals Our MVP Bill Belichick Tom has been up and down and there's been good (but not necessarily great) production all over the board. Newcomer of the season Deatrich Wise Jr. Considering only 1 rookie made the team and it was a stiff, albeit long DE, I wasn't expecting too much except a lot of edge-setting, but Wise has been an all-round contributor on the DE. OPOY Dion Lewis Dion went from being a potential trade candidate to a workhorse, do-it-all RB who has been key to the offense towards the crunch-time part of the season. The WR's have been down in terms of production and the RB usage has increased in both running and passing. Dion has been integral to that. DPOY Kyle Van Noy A bust-OLB from the Lions turned into the leader of the D from the MLB position. OK, he's not great, and his importance is mainly a result of the LB depth being so poor. But we need Van Noy back for the Play-Offs and I would not have expected myself to say that statement this time 18 months ago. Coach of the year Matt Patricia This D has no superstars on it and once the first few weeks were out of the way, they've given up less than 20 points a game (I think), considering there's no pass-rush and the LBers are awful and the secondary are overpaid and can't cover, that's a pretty good output. Team Grade Weeks 1-4 (KC, NO, HOU, CAR) Absolutely dreadful and lucky to come out of it 2-2 Grade Weeks 5-9 (TB, NYJ, ATL, LAC, Bye) The ATL win was the turning point of the season. Grade Weeks 10-13 (DEN, OAK, MIA, BUF) D stepping up but the O need to improve Grade Weeks 14-17 (MIA, PIT, BUF, NYJ) Brady turnovers concerning Overall Season Grade Thank god there was no talk of an undefeated season 4 hours into the season starting. Ups and downs and the realisation that we're a spoiled fan base. B- and we're gonna be 13-3... Best Unit RB's When a talented RB like Gillislee is a healthy scratch for 6 straight weeks, you know your stable of RB's is good. Monstrous in the passing game as well. Best 3 Performances ATL, PIT, OAK Worst 3 Performances MIA, CAR, KC Most Enjoyable Win If you're telling me you didn't go crazy when Harmon took that knee you are lying to yourself. Worst Loss Everything went wrong in that MIA game. What Three Things Have Defined Our Season Bend But Don't Break Defense stepping up in crunch time Versatility on Offense How Confident Are You Heading Into The Post Season? (1-5) 4. Injuries and uncertainty around other teams make us favourites but we were favourites in 2007 and 2011 as well. What Would You Like Us To Address in The Off-Season? DE, DT, LB, back-up QB.
