All anyone has to do is watch Montana/Marino/Elway/Johnny U play and it doesn't long to figure out those greats would have a real hard time vs todays defenses. And if ya check out their NCAA days they pale in comparison to these guys today in theirs.

It's best to keep guys in their era vs that era's. Hell, imagine these guys today back in the 80's vs those defenses.

Put todays Patrick Mahomes back in the 80's he'd look like some alien from another planet, just like Mack, Donald, Barkley would.

I don't think you understand. If Elway/Montana/Marino were in today's game, they would have today's WR's, RB's, and OL. They would also benefit from the rules basically constituting a 7-on-7 drill.  It would make little difference.  If anything, they would look much better. You can't just invalidate any player that played before the modern era.

Marino>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Mahomes. Get over it.

What is not being understood is neither ever faced anything close to what defenses are like today, totally different situation.

Neither Montana/Marino were all that at the NCAA level vs what we see today.  There just weren't that many GREAT QB's back then so they stood out.

You literally didnt address anything I said. If he played today, he would have MODERN WR's, MODERN OL and MODERN TE's so it would ultimately not change much. It isn't as though he is just taking the same offense he had in 1984 into 2018. Oh, and you seem to keep ignoring that the rules and the way the game is officiated is completely different from when Marino played.

What happened in the NCAA does not matter whatsoever in any capacity.
