BullsandBroncos
Don't be a Carpenter. You're the lowest paid trade but you require the most knowledge of the largest diversity of different things. Concrete, Wood & Metal Framing, Joining, Welding, Millwork, Doors, Hardware, Acoustics, Ceilings, etc and you probably need the most tools. Electrician and the Plumbers get paid the most. Being a plumber sucks. Electricians are usually smart and squared away but it's tough to be a great one.
MrDrew
Have you thought about a shift in the industry? Maybe a field tech, Instal tech, or fiber splicing? IT and telecom have so many different areas that you can use the skills you have, work a totally different job, and not have to completely start over. Pay is still good, and there’s always OT. Well, one of the reasons I'm interested in plumbing/electrician is the easier opportunity of owning your own business down the road and having it where you're the only employee. Not to say owning a business is easy by any means, but I like the idea of being my own boss. Edited October 15, 2019 by Elky

Ignorance of end users. 2. Dealing with the incompetence of others within the IT department. Edited October 16, 2019 by Elky
