onejayhawk
This is the draft log for the last three years. Not much is left of 2018, just Nnadi and a couple of fringe players not guaranteed to make the team. 2019 was much better. Every player made the roster, with three players--Hardman, Thornhill and Fenton--making sizable contributions. 2020 1.32 RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire Louisiana State 2.31 LB Willie Gay Jr. Mississippi State from 49ers 3.32 OL Lucas Niang Texas Christian 4.32 DB L'Jarius Sneed Louisiana Tech 5.32 DL Michael Danna Michigan 7.23 DB Thakarius Keyes Tulane from Titans, Broncos, Patriots 2019 2.24 WR Mecole Hardman Georgia from Bears through Patriots, Rams 2.31 DB Juan Thornhill Virginia from Rams 3.21 DL Khalen Saunders Western Illinois from Seahawks 6.29 DB Rashad Fenton South Carolina 6.42 RB Darwin Thompson Utah State compensatory pick 7.02 OL Nick Allegretti Illinois from 49ers 2018 2.14 DL Breeland Speaks Mississippi from Bengals 3.11 DL Derrick Nnadi Florida State from Ravens through Raiders 3.36 LB Dorian O'Daniel Clemson compensatory pick - from Bengals 4.24 DB Armani Watts Texas A&M from Rams 6.22 DB Tremon Smith Central Arkansas 6.24 OL Reginald Kahlil McKenzie Jr. Tennessee from Rams In addition, there is an impressive list of UDFA. At least half a dozen of these guys will likely make the roster or practice squad. It would not shock me if one or two of these players (not counting the punter) played important minutes in September. onejayhawk
All six drafted rookies ready to sign, ie verbal agreements. https://chiefswire.usatoday.com/2020/07/20/kansas-city-chiefs-verbal-agreement-contracts-rookie-draft-picks/ J
KC_Guy
Obviously no pre-season games. Will make it hard for UDFA and some late rounders to make the team. Altered PS regulations may help to keep 'em though. Chiefs start of "real" training camp will be delayed by two days because of a requirement of a 72 hours period between the initial two COVID tests. onejayhawk
There is a real battle brewing over the WR3 slot, between Hardman and Robinson. To put that in perspective, Robinson is the likely WR2 for most NFL teams. All that said, there are good chances there is no clear winner and they both get serious PT, with Watkins moving on after this season. I have spoken at leangth about DB rookies, but don't forget the OL. We drafted Lucas Niang and have 2-3 potential players from the UDFA pool.
