10 SF Theo Chase 22 6'9" 202 6'9" Illinois 7 74 A

Even though there are no A+ potential players in this entire draft.....this is still a pretty deep draft.  Saunders looks like a really good player, although I like Lamar Davidson more.  If I were to win the lottery again I'd probably trade down.  SF/PF Ramon Aguilar is really slow, so he's definitely going to be a PF.  SG Ben Bryan and PG Levingston both have really good wingspans.  SF Wes Parker is an extremely athletic wing.  SG Carlton Hunter is probably the best 3 point shooter in the draft, and one of the best I've seen in any draft so far.  There are practically no bigs in the top 10.

I’m currently 35-21, which is 4th in the East.  I’m only 3.5 games out of 1st place, which is pretty awesome.  However,  I’m also only 3.5 games up on the 8 seed, so the East is a pretty tight race.  I’d be comfortably in 2nd place if I was in the West.  I’m not going to make any major moves at the deadline this year.

Boston Celtics Receive

PG Briante Weber (72)

Chicago Bulls Receive

2023 Celtics 2nd Round Pick

C Drew Daly (72)

I’m just making this move because I have a bunch of Guards on the roster right now and have had some injuries to my bigs.  Daly was the 23rd overall pick in the 2019 draft but only has B- potential.  He has A- interior defense and B+ rebounding though so he should be a solid backup.  I just want to make sure I have some bodies available for the playoffs in case I have more injuries.

End of the Season – Year 5

Final Record 47-35, 7th place in East, and 9 games out of first place.  I think this is the best record I’ve had so far, but the East was stacked this year.  I fell in the standings a bit after the All Star Break, which is going to give me a tough Round 1 matchup against the Cavaliers once again.  Also, the computer screwed me and simmed and injury to SG Lamar Davidson in the last game of the freaking season, and he’s out 1-2 weeks.

Davidson is injured for 1-2 weeks, so I've put Troy Daniels into the starting lineup to give me some more outside shooting with that group.  I'm hoping Davidson comes back in a week because he's my best perimeter defender.  I'm also going to only use 1 true Center, and try to keep a more athletic unit out their against the Cavs who are super athletic.

Summary

Victory!  This was my first playoff win with the Bulls and it came against a good team.  Lebron was Lebron, and Odell Shepard is a nightmare to defend.  The Cavs also still have: Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson, Ben McLemore, Jeff Green, Isaiah Whitehead, and more.  The crazy this is they actually have Jimmy Butler too but he’s out for the season with a torn Achilles.

I outplayed the Cavs in every way.  I shot better than them, my team is faster than theirs, bigger too, and I destroyed them on the boards.  First let’s talk about Rookie CJ Ellis Jr.  He’s the straw that stirs the drink and makes everything else work.  He’s super quick for his size, can pass on a dime, drain shots from all over the court, and plays pretty good defense.  I was getting some shots going early with him which started to make the defense cheat over towards him, and was then able to distribute to my other shooters who were open.  I couldn’t do this before because I didn’t have a dominant guy to draw the defense away.  SG Troy Daniels really took advantage of this and hit 4 threes in the game.  Daniels also added 6 rebounds, he had a really good game.

My starting Center dominated the game though.  Tristan Thompson is a good player but he’s on 6’9”.  Meeks, the 7’2” 300+ lb monster with a 7’10” wingspan just backed him down in the post all game long.  I didn’t even have to do layups, I literally backed Thompson down so close that I could just dunk over him for instant points over and over.  Meeks also grabbed an awesome 26 rebounds.

SF Bembry did an OK job defending Lebron, but it would help a lot if I had Davidson to put on him.  Bembry finished with a respectable 8 points, 2 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 steals.  Starting PG Alexi Gornev didn’t score but he had 10 assists.  He’s OK, but I think an upgrade at PG will be needed eventually.

I really like my backup Forwards, Al Grace and Donnie Carlisle.  They are very different.  Grace is very fast, and can drive to the rim for easy layups or make contact to draw a foul.  Carlisle is pretty slow, but can shoot from outside.  So I run the Pick & Roll with them together on my 2nd unit, and it works well with Grace as the primary ball handler.  He can either drive or kick the ball to Carlisle who can shoot it or drive to the basket as well.  Backup PF/C Ed Hansen also provided solid defense and contributed 10 rebounds.

The really only disappointment was backup PG/SG Tim Morrison who struggled shooting, he went 2-14 and finished with 10 points.  He’s my current 6th man but still needs some development on his shot before he can be a consistent contributor.

I’m only going to be playing odd numbered games in the series and simming the even ones.  Maybe Davidson will be back for Game 3.

I've never seen that happen before.  That's pretty cool.  I wonder how a 78 overall went undrafted?

Lebron James in the league is now only 26 points behind Kareem as the all time NBA scoring leader and could possibly surpass the record during Game 3.

That should only be a regular season stat.  Post Season stats shouldn't be adding to the total.

My biggest problem when doing these franchises is when a stud prospect comes up, I need to have him. It makes it so hard for me to let them go. I envy your restraint

Ya I find it more fun to let those guys go to opposing teams and trying to beat them.

Yeah I don't find that fun at all. I still remember Samuel Strawberry in my Skyline franchise from a few months ago. He should have been mine

I might get 2k idk
