UKTexans
That's mad that RSA won. They were arguably more consistent but Fiji won 5 rounds to RSAs 2.

Yeah, it's a bit of a head-scratcher. Similar result in the womens series too, just to a lesser extent. Both teams were a placing short of the title, despite claiming the most overall tournament victories. The points system is quite unusual in a team sport context. It's probably more akin to what you'd find on F1 / NASCAR circuits.

Not a huge fan really Yeah, I see your point. Unfortunately it's one of those close seasons where only a few points seperated the top sides. And, while Fiji were outstanding in a number of tournaments, they were subpar in others, including the final one. (Had Fiji finished 4th, instead of 5th, they'd be equal in points with RSA, & have won the series). WR could intervene, & change the points system to increase the points awarded to the winning side. But, since the finale was an exciting one, I doubt that they will. Edited July 7, 2018 by Marc MacGyver

Small Town Values
(News) Sam Warburton: Wales and British & Irish Lions captain retires from rugby https://www.bbc.com/sport/rugby-union/44869719 Quote British and Irish Lions captain Sam Warburton has retired from rugby at the age of 29 after winning 79 Test caps. The former Wales captain has not played since leading the 2017 Lions to a drawn series against New Zealand. The back-rower recently returned to Cardiff Blues training after being sidelined for 2017-18 by knee and neck surgery. "My body is unable to give me back what I had hoped for on my return to training," said Warburton. In a statement announcing the decision, the Welsh Rugby Union said that following his most recent injuries it had "become clear to Warburton that he wouldn't be able to return to the high standards he has set throughout his career". Warburton, the winner of 74 Wales and five Lions caps, added: "Unfortunately, after a long period of rest and rehabilitation the decision to retire from rugby has been made with my health and wellbeing as a priority."
