I always thought he would have been a solid player in the Steelers scheme. He has some length and I think he could transition into a hybrid-FS/Nickel CB for the Steelers. A few other players that I would certainly kick the tires on are: Cornerbacks: ***CB Desmond Trufant - - former starter and some added insurance at CB since losing Steven Nelson ***CB Greg Stroman - - I loved this kid coming out of VA Tech. Has punt return ability and can play the slot. CB Corey Ballentine - - an experienced corner who could fit the Nickel role. Safety: Karl Joseph - - Edmunds type of safety with more natural instincts. Just hasn't seemed to be able to put it all together as a pro. Could fill some roles on the Steelers defense. Ha Ha Clinton Dix - - Play seems to have diminished as a starter, but ould be a solid back-up and scheme player with veteran savvy and starting experience. ***Sheldrick Redwine - - Probably best known for the WC game INT last year, but a player from the U (Miami) who could be a decent back-up role player here. He plays FS and I think he is better than anyone else on the roster not named Minkah at that position. Inside Linebacker/Outside Linebacker/Edge/Special Teams Coverage Noah Spence - - I liked this kid coming out of college, but hasn't seemed to go to the next level. He has some natural God-given pass rush skills. Shaqueem Griffin - - I liked him as a core special teamer coming out of college. He could be a decent pass coverage ILB specialist. He has some speed and is still developing as a football player. I think he has to be used as a role player only. He is quick and fast for a ILB type in coverage in the middle of the field.
