They are there to manage the games and make smart baseball decisions based on stats. As long as they have a smart baseball mind then they should be able to manage a game effectively. As long as they hire an experienced batting coach and pitching coach then a manager with no experience should be fine.

Idt baseball managers are as important as football head coaches, but I do think experience helps and good managers can make teams better. With so many analytics it’s important for a manger to understand them. Who knows to what degree Boone and Cone do especially if they haven’t worked with some before.
