jleisher
Realistic or not in this mock I have made two trades. Used TheNflDraftNetwork.com for simulator and Nfl Draft Buzz for scouting reports. 2. Lions Aidan Hutchinson Edge Michigan #12. Vikings Jordan Davis IDL Georgia #28. Lions Ahmad Gardner CB Cincinnati #32. Packers Drake London WR USC OVERALL RATING: 93.4 / 100 GAME PERFORMANCE WEIGHTED RATING HANDS: 89% SHORT RECEIVING: 79% INTERMEDIATE ROUTES: 84% DEEP THREAT: 86% BLOCKING: 67% SCOUTING REPORT: SUMMARY London has had a totally dominating 2021 season where he showcased his immense talent. We regard him as the best possession receiver in the 2022 Draft - but to put him in the possession bracket is underselling his skills. He uses his height to out jump and out muscle corners and despite not having great speed he has good speed especially for his size and is an amazing deep threat that has constantly faced double coverage and still put up impressive numbers. He looks a lot like a taller Keenan Allen and it wouldn't surprise us if he has a similarly productive NFL career. London should be taken in the first half of the first round and will likely start as a rookie. #34. Lions Malik Willis QB Liberty #39. Bears Darian Kinnard IOL Kentucky #46. Vikings Nakobe Dean ILB Georgia #64. Packers David Ojabo Edge Michigan OVERALL RATING: 90.7 / 100 GAME PERFORMANCE WEIGHTED RATING TACKLING: 71% PASS RUSH: 86% RUN DEFENSE: 72% SCOUTING REPORT: SUMMARY David Ojabo may have the greatest upside of any player in the 2022 NFL Draft class with a unique combination of size, strength, and speed. Considering he has only one full season as a full-time pass rusher he has exceeded any possible expectations. For all his upside, he is very raw and still learning the position and so he does represent a risk as a high day one pick - as there is no guarantee he will continue to develop and fully master the position. If he does develop as we hope he'll likely end up being the best pass-rusher in this class, even exceeding his Michigan teammate Hutchinson. We currently have Ojabo rated as a top 15 pick who may even go higher if, as expected puts up crazy numbers at the 2022 combine #65. (Bears trade Khalil Mack Edge to Jags for picks # 65, #70 and 2023 2nd rd pick.) Jaxson Kirkland T/G Washington #66. Lions Lewis Cine S Georgia #70. Bears Cameron Thomas Edge San Diego St. #71. Bears Perrion Winfrey IDL Oklahoma #77. Vikings Arnold Ebiketie Edge Penn St. #96. Chad Muma ILB Wyoming OVERALL RATING: 83.5 / 100 GAME PERFORMANCE WEIGHTED RATING TACKLING: 90% PASS RUSH: 73% RUN DEFENSE: 94% COVERAGE: 75% SCOUTING REPORT: SUMMARY Muma is an excellent prospect who has dominated at the division 2 level. He has an almost perfect technique and is able to understand all the nuances of the game. He's a super hard hitter and never misses a tackle who's a natural leader on the field and one of the most accomplished run defenders in the draft.Muma isn't perfect, however - he does not possess elite athletic talent who only has good - but not great speed. It is also difficult to fully assess Muma playing at lower level school and so pro teams will have to decide whether his excellent play at that level is likely to translate to the pro game.In our view, Muma will likely become an excellent pro and possesses an extremely high floor. We expect him to be good value as a second-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft - with a chance to further enhance his stock at the combine. #97. Lions Damone Clark ILB LSU #118. (Packers trade ZaDarius Smith to Dolphins for pick #118.) Alec Pierce WR Cincinnati OVERALL RATING: 82.1 / 100 GAME PERFORMANCE WEIGHTED RATING HANDS: 75% SHORT RECEIVING: 00% INTERMEDIATE ROUTES: 75% DEEP THREAT: 81% BLOCKING: 62% SCOUTING REPORT: SUMMARY Alec Pierce has been shooting up draft boards lately as teams have become more aware of his super-athletic talents. He's got ideal size for an outside receiver, elite top-level speed, impressive vertical ability, and has the strength to outmuscle smaller corners. He however doesn't always look like a natural receiver and is still growing into the position, he also doesn't have the reliable hands you would look for on a high pick - which makes him a bit of risk. He's very much a boom-bust prospect at this point. We rate Pierce as a 4th round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft who will likely put on a show at the combine next March. He however will likely go higher - perhaps as high as the second round if a team falls in love with his athletic potential. #134. Packers Tyler Davis IDL Clemson OVERALL RATING: 83.3 / 100 GAME PERFORMANCE WEIGHTED RATING TACKLING: 66% PASS RUSH: 72% RUN DEFENSE: 70% Strengths Lower than offensive lineman on every short-yardage play. Good agility and ability to change direction for his size. Rarely goes to the ground, showing good balance from his high school wrestling days. Strong tackler. Has good power in hands and can anchor, shed, and chase. Provides some secondary interior pass rush, getting most penetration when playing three technique. Big-bodied rusher with very good upper-body strength. Strong and stout at the point of attack with the measurables to occupy multiple blockers. Weaknesses Misses tackles, even when he gets his hands on the ballcarrier. Needs to improve hand placement and technique. Good strength, though his marginal arm length limits his ability to grab hold of ballcarriers as they run by. Only adequate burst off the snap even when directly over the ball, and his initial pop leaves room to be desired. He struggles with leverage off the snap and plays too tall, limiting his effectiveness as a pass rusher. Sees the ball well but is stuck on blocks when head-up; does not shed to make plays often enough. #136. Packers Braxton Jones T S.Utah OVERALL RATING: 81.9 / 100 GAME PERFORMANCE WEIGHTED RATING PASS BLOCKING: 75% RUN BLOCKING: 60% Strengths A smooth mover and covers a lot of ground, working hard to mirror rushers; agile and keeps his feet moving. Tall, long, athletic pass protector. Generally gets out of three-point stance with good knee bend and a wide base. Solid positional run blocker who flashes the nasty demeanor and killer instinct scouts covet. Awareness is above-average for his limited experience. Sells trap block and can turn to seal. Fluid getting to and adjust at the second level. Above-average football smarts and general intelligence. Plays with a nasty streak. Solid character and work ethic. Weaknesses Attacks when necessary, though he won't consistently dominate and can lose balance overextending. Stops his feet after initial contact, relying on length but allowing defender to get the corner or spin inside. Height can be a detriment in short-yardage, defender can get under his pads to hold the line. Too often is pushed back into the pocket during pass protection becaus~ he bends at the waist rather than at the knees. Relies more on precise angles than physicality in the running game. Not physically imposing and has average overall strength. Upper body gets over his feet too often and he easily loses his balance. #146. Bears Justyn Ross WR Clemson #148. Bears Jaivon Heiligh WR Coastal Carolina #154. Vikings Leon O'Neal S Texas A&M #173. Packers Charlie Kolar TE Iowa St. OVERALL RATING: 82.8 / 100 GAME PERFORMANCE WEIGHTED RATING HANDS: 87% SHORT RECEIVING: 92% INTERMEDIATE ROUTES: 96% DEEP THREAT: 95% BLOCKING: 66% Strengths Soft, reliable hands center the big target for quarterbacks. Shields the defense and will let the ball into his pads to protect it when about to absorb a big hit over the middle. Has hands of glue, about as good as you 'll see in the sport. Good body control to reach back for the pass behind him. High-points passes and has good vertical, timing and hand-eye coordination in jump-ball situations. Knee-bend and technique are good and he shows decent power when his hands hit the target. Soft hands. Flashes good to very good tracking and overall body control to make catches outside of his frame. Weaknesses Is a bit high-hipped and slow to get rolling. Frame limits upside as a blocker. Possesses only average straight-line speed and is a bit stiff as a route-runner, showing only average flexibility and burst out of his breaks. High cut frame and limited power in hands prevent a top blocking grade. Inconsistent with his release off the line of scrimmage. Only average lateral agility to elude and might not be fast enough to be a consistent threat down the seam against NFL competition.
pgwingman
I like the direction of the mock, but it looks like the first two picks are slated to go in the first round, well before we are supposed to pick. That's just based on the descriptions you posted though. It does look like a decent draft to pick up IDL and TE talent in the middle rounds though. StartBarr
I like it, addresses several positions we should definitely focus on - love the Drake London / Alec Pierce combo to start a potential rebuild of our WR depth chart. Really would love to see us bring Davante back and reduce the need for a Round 1 wideout. Who knows what this roster will look like in a few months, but regardless - this would be a very solid start if the cupboard is left rather empty
oldmansmell
If Ojabo is there in the first, there is no way they don't take him - I mean everybody thought we over drafted Gary. I Like Pierce and Muma a lot. Not sure Drake will be there either. Also I think the idea of trading Z is interesting, and figuring out the value there is probably impossible. Still, I feel like a team with the cap space might take that punt. Edited January 20, 2022 by oldmansmell
