Write-Up
Overview – To have a chance this week, we have to make Flint play our game.  Dirty, ugly, low-scoring.  If Malik starts tonight IRL, he starts for us.  If Tannehill is active, Ehlinger starts for us, and our offense remains the same.

Offense
TL;DR – RPO, get the QB on the edges of the defense, get the ball to our playmakers

Same as last week, we really want to run behind the Linsley-Davis-Wirfs side early and often.  Flint has a very good DL, but we think our OL can handle them just fine.

We are going to use a frequent RPO action to play into Malik’s strengths.  He will read the DE and either pull or hand it off.  There will be times where we split everyone out to get the box as light as possible and have a designed QB run.

We will also use a more traditional playaction motion that will allow Malik to carry the motion into a bootleg and get him on the edges of the defense where he can make an easy completion or use his legs.

There will be some use of a standard passing attack in hurry up situations.

We will run inside and out.   Pollard will get 50% of the snaps/touches and Pacheco will get 40% with Gainwell getting the remaining 10%.  We will use Pollard more on 3rd downs to make use of his pass-catching ability.  We want Pollard to get at least 15 carries and Pacheco to get at least 12.  We will use some draws and screens to slow down their pass rush.

We want to make regular use of pre-snap motion to give Malik a better idea of the coverage.  Linsley will be in charge of the protection calls to take something off Malik’s plate.  Goedert and Aiyuk will rarely, if ever, leave the field as they are our two most consistent pass-catchers and we want to give each plenty of opportunities to make plays.  After them, we will let Malik make his reads to get the ball out of his hands and then look to escape the pocket and make use of his legs.  All of our players will be well aware that once Malik breaks the pocket, they need to work back to him.

We are going to incorporate Kadarius on about 10% of the total snaps(mixed throughout various personnel groups) with an effort to get the ball into his hands quick and see if he can do something.

3 WR – 65% - Drake, Garrett, Aiyuk, and Goedert.   Our base offense.  We will flex Goedert out here with regularity to lighten the box and tip coverage.  Look for some WR screens to Goedert’s side.

2 TE – 15% - Henry, Goedert, Aiyuk, and Drake.  Henry comes in to give us more blocking and a safety net for Malik.  We will use this on short yardage, goalline, or anytime we want to be more physical up front.  Pacheco will be the RB here to give us more size.  Look for more stretch runs with playaction off of that motion.

2 RB – 15% - Goedert, Aiyuk, Garrett, and the backs.  We are going to use Pollard and Pacheco here, with Pollard moving around and splitting out.  If we like the matchup outside, we will go there.  If we like numbers/personnel in the box, we will let Malik and Pacheco run a read-option.

5 WR – 5% - Aiyuk, Drake, Garrett, ARob, Goedert.  Malik will be in shotgun and this will be used mostly in hurry up/2 minute situations.  Goedert will be flexed out.  Malik will be our running game here.

Defense
TL;DR – Win at the LOS, play zone to get eyes on Josh, make Josh play it slow.

We are going to play mostly zone this week as we want to accomplish two things.  Take away the deep ball and keep Josh Allen from just running around all the time and extending the play.  We will rotate between Cover 3 and Cover 6 with about 30% Cover 1 Man.  These zone defenses protect against the deep ball while keeping eyes towards Josh.

Defensive Line
If we are going to accomplish our defensive goals, it starts here.  Quinnen and Derrick should obliterate the interior OL of Flint.  Za’Darius is going to get lined up against Tytus all game which will force Josh to move to his left as that match-up is just unfair.  And no right-handed QB loves going left.  Hendrickson will win his fair share against Armstead.  Essentially, we want to make sure that Josh Allen is constantly under duress.  Our depth guys will rotate in as need be, but we want to lean on our starters to get as many snaps as possible.

Linebackers
Tremaine is going to be focused on the run game and sit in his middle zone in the pass game.  He will also be the Josh Allen spy.  If Allen escapes the pocket, Tremaine will follow.

Jordyn is going to be focused on shutting down the run and have Kittle in man coverage.  In a 2 TE set, Kyzir will have Hurst in man coverage.

Corners
Donte is going to shadow DJ Moore.  St-Juste takes Gibson or the 2nd WR.  Stokes takes the 3rd WR and comes in for Kyzir.  Troy Hill has the 4th WR in 4 WR sets and comes in for Jordyn.  We are going to have our CBs stay with their men wherever they go.

Safeties
Thornhill is going to have his deep zone all game, but will typically be shaded to Moore’s side.

Winfield will be up in the box to help in the run game and have Kamara in man coverage.

OFFENSE:

We will use a higher percentage of both 2TE and 2RB packages this week to take advantage of the talent we have available. We will still use a good amount of 3WR sets. But we might be a bit creative with motion to create those looks. Moving Kittle off the line, or flexing Kamara or Antonio Gibson out of the backfield to fill one of the WR roles.

This week our run game is going to focus on working towards the edges. I want to avoid the duo of Quinnen Williams and Derrick Brown inside. We will use I-form packages and our 2RB Pistol packages to work some outside zone runs, counters, and Power runs to the outside. As well as a few stretch plays out of 2TE sets.

In the pass game we will try to pick on the second level of their defense. Using a combination of choice routes, slants, intermediate outs and curls, bubble screens, short crosses set up with pre-snap motion, and of course some fades and corner routes targeting George Kittle, we will force their back 7 to have to honor all possible weapons and options between 2-20 yards. With a good mix of run and pass, as well as the ever present threat of a Josh Allen scramble, this week we believe we can easily put up the points it will take to pull out the W.

DEFENSE:

We're going to exploit the inexperience of their rookie QB. We will mix in some Man 40%, Cover-2, Cover-3, and Cover-6 looks. We'll do our best to disguise them all pre-snap.

We will bring a decent amount of blitzes today. Especially on 3rd & Long. We want to force the inexperienced rookie to make quick decisions.

From a focus perspective, we will be well prepared for a good amount of RPO concepts today. We will rotate our DL players to keep everyone fresh. Aside from Bosa, who will play a higher percentage. Our CB's will press all their young WR's frequently, to force Malik Willis to wait that extra half second to find somewhere to dump the ball while our aggressive DL bullies their way into the backfield.

Just try obliterating the best guard in football ;) and Howard has only allowed 1 sack too.

Although I think RTTruth had us focus on the outside run to avoid your big boys...

Good luck

P.S. Did you just copy our last week lineup and use that? We have Lazard back.

Bitonio is very good but the rest of your IOL sucks.

Avoiding Quinnen and Derrick is a wise idea.

He was questionable all week, which is why I said St-Juste takes Gibson(if Lazard didn't play) or the 2nd WR(if he did).

Good luck to you as well.

Bitonio is probably the best iOL in the league, our Center is okay, not great, but he's an injury substitute. Glowinski is fine, nothing amazing but good, especially good in run blocking. When Glowinski or Cann is our weak link we're laughing, but with Mustipher a decent downgrade next to him, we are avoiding running into your big boys more than usual this week.
