Baltimore
Offense

Run the ball – We want to limit New Orleans opportunities on offense and want to win the time of possession battle thanks to our running game. Expect a heavy zone blocking scheme with Warren getting 60% of the touches, Mattison getting 30% and Patterson getting the remaining 10%. Lamar will get also a lot of designed runs through the RPO.

Playaction passes – Establishing the running game will open the playaction passes for that. We will send our TEs or Dotson on crosser routes across the field and try to hit him in space. If NO brings a safety down we be a little more aggressive trying to hit a couple of deep balls to our wideouts.

Defense

Stop the run – We think our front 6 is well equipped to stop the run and with 2 safeties in or outside the box in McKinney and Woods, we think that should give us enough to stop the rushing threats of both Henry and Allen while keeping us sound in coverage.

Cover 3 / Cover 6 – We will run mostly zone cover 3 / cover 6 defense to keep everything in front of us and prevent the big play. We think our way to win this game is limiting the number of opportunities of NO to get the ball, and, when they do, force turnovers or limit them to field goals.

Blitz on timely occasions – With a conservative defensive gameplan, we think Josh Allen might get comfortable at some point. That’s when (like end of the 3rd, 4th quarter) we want to strike with a couple of timely blitzes to force a stupid decision by Josh and hopefully a game winning turnover.
