This match right here is the only thing that thr MALFYS and the PWNYS would predict differently

If im right, my stats are validated and if im wrong, i will retire these stats.

I'll use the info above to try and predict the winners for this week, considering both net yards and fluck:

Tokyo Samurai @ Hamilton Hornets
New Zealand Blobfish @ Scranton Papermakers
Greenland Polar Bears @ Phoenix Rubber Ducks
Hanoi Viet Kongs @ Rio de Janeiro Pirates
Cincinnati Buffleheads @ Little Rock Uni Royals
Lancaster Fighting Amish @ Indianapolis Predators
Reykjavík Direwolves @ Anchorage Amphibians
Burlington Sock Puppets @ Butte Bots
Wattsville Waste Walruses @ Lake Minnewanka Ice Orcas
Egypt Starfalls @ Freiburg Venom

(Eww.)

The last 3 are the deciding factors between our rankings

MALFYS predict blobfish and PWNYS predict Papermakers

New Zealand Blobfish @ Scranton Papermakers

Both are still tied IMO to the luck based variables, one including fumble recovery rate. Some teams are seeing the ball more or less or their schedule is skewing things. MALFYS are skewing it even more for teams that are already leading certain categories compared to others. I mean how else are differences so much lol.

And even though you are calling an upset of the week, going by your rankings these are the only ones that differ between us

Those are important categories to double down on. Lets let the next week decide things

For sure.

And, to be clear, the FLUCKs are only sorted by Net Points, but they highlight fumble luck (and FG%). If I were to rank the teams based on the FLUCKs, they wouldn't (necessarily) be in the order that they were listed on that chart.

(Great job on the MALFYS, by the way.)

Its an aspect of the pwnys but using stats to move the needle.

Thats why only 7 teams had different ratings and only jumped by a max of 2.

Its all up to pete on whether the malfys are a better predictor than the pwnys this far.

If not, im burning it down

In fact, if im not the best or tied for the best in all predictive metrics i will go back to the drawing board and dig deep

You're a smart person.

What do you think is the best way to sort the FLUCKs? I want to take Net Yards, detract their FLUCK percentage, then improve based on their FG%.

Crap. Yards, not points.

Net td points because fgs are random and dont contribute to success

Bah. Poppycock.

FGs are anything but random. (Hence: Tucker always leading the league in percentage and Jason Myers kicking his exact 2023 NFL FG%). I've scored more TDs than I've allowed, yet I'm at -27 Net Points. FGs matter.

I lift my chin at your conclusions.
