But they have a great RB in Shady. So who’s fault is it

Tyrod’s average time to throw is 3.01 seconds. Only Russell Wilson and Deshaun Watson took longer. Last year, his was 3.13, the only player longer than 2.9. Comparatively, even with as much running as he does, Blake spends 2.73 seconds behind the LOS per pass.

Shady spends 2.95 seconds behind the LOS per rush. It’s the 10th longest among every RB in football. Comparatively, Leonard Fournette spends 2.58 behind the LOS, the second shortest (proof he needs to slow down and process more, if we’re being honest).

Players averaging nearly a full three seconds behind the LOS is going to lead to to a lot of negative and no-gain plays, even if the OL is good.

If your “how good is their OL?” question is really a different way of saying “is their offense going to allow our front four to make big time impact plays?” the answer is that their team makeup seems to suggest that we should. If your question is actually about the talent on the offensive line, various metrics seem to suggest they’re a pretty good unit, but have trouble holding up when players spend a lot of time in the backfield.

Wow. This is a pretty incredible post and has a lot of information about my team that I didn't know.

Our line hasn't played as well as last season but they're still pretty good. Our left side is definitely our strong side, Incognito and our rookie LT Dion Dawkins have had very strong seasons. We're missing Corey Glenn who missed almost all of the season. The only game were we had a really bad game was against the Jets on TNF, I would say its quite possible your defensive front is good enough to give us some trouble.

Just hope we play our DBs up close so Tyrod doesn't have a throw to make in the first 2 seconds

They would be really stupid not to.

Watson and Wilson hold the ball that long, and their average attempted air yards (that is, how far they attempt to throw the ball, even on incompletions) is 11.3 and 10.1. Tyrod’s is 8.7. He’s not aggressive with the ball, even on incompletions. So they’re not likely going to have “lucky” deep plays that can turn the game either. Play tight and make him take a long time to try to throw short. Then disrupt his timing with the pass rush.

Also, keeping the DBs close helps when Shady attempts to bounce around in the backfield.

No reason to not play our bread and butter defense this week.

We agree but sometimes we just play so far off for no reason
